Not all of these series have the same exact horsepower ratings... The GP60 & SD60 series are 3,800 HP with the 710-G3A's.The standard cabbed SD70's were 4,000 HP but the SD70I's,SD70M's,SD70MAC's,and SD70ACE's are actually 4,300 HP and all units use 710-G3B's.The SD75I's & SD75M's are 4,500 HP with the 710-G3C's.Obviously there also was the SD9043MAC convertibles which used 710-G3B's. ATSF ordered 51 SD75M's but 25 of the units became apart of BNSF's roster because those weren't delivered before the merge.26 SD75I's are in the BNSF roster.Canadian National owns 173 SD75I's which were suppose to become SD75ACC rebuilds last year.ONRR only got 5 SD75I's and only have 4 units because one was totaled from a derailment.

NS got rid of their SD70/75M units a few years back, while most of the standard SD70s they had have since been rebuilt as SD70ACCs. The rest that didn’t receive a rebuild were retired and sold to progress Rail. That’s all I know about their units from there.

Norfolk Southern was suppose to rebuild 80 SD70's into SD70ACC's but only 52 were completed. As usual as it is,they canceled the program at some point instead of getting it fulfilled and the 28 remaining units were sent to PRLX and most likely will be scraped. The 65 SD70ACU's that they sent to PRLX are finally getting scraped.

This footage was taken when I went up to Winnipeg back in August of last year. As I recall, when driving along the main road, I spotted these two engines in a field attached to about a dozen cars just south of Morris, MB. As I was getting closer to town, I noticed the two engines cut off and started to head towards town as well, carrying only one car. Luckily, the track converged with the road, and I was able to film them crossing. Anyway, because the conductor was just hanging out on the second engine, I would assume they weren't going very far, and probably went to shunt some more cars a little ways further into town. I recommend checking out my 2nd rail expedition video, as it has more said about what I saw in Morris.

@@brookingsrail as soon as I posted my comment I realised that was probably what was going on. Working in the rail industry myself (in Australia), if someone did that here, they would be facing disciplinary action or termination. Where I am, you can't even step off a moving rail vehicle, even if it's moving at walking pace. Which seems pretty ridiculous but hey, safety safety safety, as we are constantly being told lol.
