When fighting with a one-handed sword, your other hand is there for stability and defence - In British broasword & saber, your hand remains at your hip as standard, while going out to the side of your face, then back to your hip, during lunges. This allows you to remain stable. While I am unsure about the exact systems that use it, I vaguely remember that French fencing duellists would use a thick cloth wrapped around their offhand so that they can catch the blade with their hand. Of course, in every system, it is expected that you should block a fatal strike with your hand, as to save your vital organs from being hit. Best to lose a hand than to die, after all.

@@madszn ikr, you can have the most complex and intricate plot with mindblowing twists here and there, but what matters most is how much the viewers enjoyed it. "objectively" speaking, the real measure for the quality of a show is it's success with the viewers. A "great plot" that can't captivate people's interest to the fullest doesn't mean sh*t. Naturally, there are different shows targeting different audiences with different preferences and that's why completely different shows can be both great in their own way for their target audiences. Be it a comedy with simple plot or a very elaborate story like Game Of Thrones.

Actually eminence does it quite well compared to anime that characters don't just use their sword but also their fists and feet, like when Shadow fought again Zenon or when Zenon fought against Alexia.

A "background studio" for a "background character" like Cid Kagenou, ironies of life. ASMR of this anime is amazing, i dont know if ths is the first anime in history to use this sound effect, but that only adds positive points to this anime, for a background studio like Nexus they did a wonderful job, they also adapted it wonderfully without rushing it, as they do with other adaptations of other anime.

I don't blame you for the way you vibrate when Cid gets into it. It's involuntary and I just took it to mean that the studio did a good job making Cid awesome. The "I am atomic" gave me tingles and then the show kept giving me the shakes.

Yeah on top of that the fist does not have the reach of a sword. Punching in a sword fight is a good way to lose your arm though.

The best part about the fight between Cid and Iris is that he was wielding her training against her. It wasn't magic of any kind. He was carefully manipulating his movements to trigger her mind into thinking he had done what she thought he had done, effectively turning her trained instincts into his weapon. Beatrix saw it, but Iris looked like a fool to everyone else. As for Rose about to kill herself, it would have utterly ruined P.A.'s plans if both she and her father wound up dead. The possibility of war would be utterly gone. Anything he did after that could not be blamed on them because countless witnesses would witness both deaths. He would have no cards to play because he wouldn't have a scapegoat. That was why he was so panicked.

So, one of the things about Beatrix is she has a really good nose lol. So the "you stink" was indicative of that. 100% that goes to show how "good she is" in the fact she expects certain things or has a fighters intuition. Anos and Cid are on different wavelengths. Tbh we have been eating good this couple of season now ( blue lock, eminence, bungou, vinland,etc) i think whilst waiting to decide what show you should watch next maybe you can watch some movies like jjk 0, silent voice, any shinkai films. I really like the fact that you are watching hells paradise as its one of the the new “dark” big 3 alongside jjk and chainsaw. I think for suggestion in this season is without a doubt oshi no ko, it’s currently the no 1 anime of all time on mal and with good reason. The hour long ep 1 premiere is just a spectacle in itself

Well you can’t compare Anos to Cid. Cid himself said that if there were a million people dying, he wouldn’t do anything to save them. He has his priorities. He wouldn’t mind humiliating people or trampling over them, that’s his character design. Psychopath who’s a badass😂🔥 Anos on the other hand would sacrifice himself to save people. He would also kill his enemies, only to bring them back and teach them a lesson. Anos has nothing to prove, he’s already the strongest and he’s a direct opposite of CID that he is main character energy.
