Correction, (spoilers inbound from the manga, skip this comment if you do not want to get spoiled) Alright, Akane Nishino, the girl from the beginning is NOT Cid's sister. Akane Nishino will reappear later in the manga, will not mention how, why, or when. Akane Nishino will exist at the same time as Cid's sister and therefore, cannot be the past life of Cid's sister. But it's fine, you're probably not a manga reader (and neither am I, I got spoiled by reading the wiki lol) or just didn't read far enough into the manga you know, so it's understandable you didn't know.

I’m pretty sure that Cid’s past life was in a parallel universe, it makes sense when you think about it, Kagenoh Minoru is just the parallel verseion of Cid Kagenou (kinda funny they have a similar last name tho) and the same goes for Claire (tho now that I think about it Alexia is also a good candidate as well) and Nishino Akane (I’m assuming here I don’t actually know for certain so don’t take my word for it)
