The Emotions sister were pretty and Sheila the one in the middle she just stood out more. She had a very sophisticated mannerism. The Jones Girls came after The Emotions and copied The Emotions sound too closely... they had a couple nice joints but the jones girls were considered 'biters'
@CityfrontDoorStaff4 жыл бұрын
@@RJNumber45 , I disagree. The Jones Girls didn't copy. They have been singing since they were little girls also. The difference is they were from Detroit, and the Emotions are from Chicago. The Jones Girls just didn't get the breaks like other groups did. They sang in church with their Mom, Mary Frazier Jones, who taught them how to harmonize. From there, they have backgrounded for SEVERAL artists. They also have a recording contract in the early 70s on the Music Merchant label, part of the stable HOT WAX/INVICTCUS records headed by Holland Dozier Holland after leaving Motown.

While knowing Sheila was the spokesman of the group, still the job of the interviewer would be to at least acknowledge the entire group. You don't have to be a professional to do that. It's just common courtesy. So yes, could I i have done better? I think most people placed in that situation, would not want a guest to feel left out, or disrespected. If these ladies were guest at your dinner, would you only be up in one of them faces? No because you wouldn't want the others to feel disrespected.
