Lionheart, I just finished my Empire play-through on Sunday, and have some building advice for you. There are special building slots scattered around the empire provinces, but you don't know that until you conquer them. To that end, here's how I advise you set up your provinces: 1.) Don't put a shine of sigmar in Reikland. Middenheim has a special building for that that will affect that province and all adjacent provinces. That's huge, and will be really helpful during the chaos invasion later. 2.) Recruit Reiksguard with a Reiksfort in Reikland, but don't built the horse recruitment chain there. The southern-most settlement in the Middenheim province (the province north of Altdorf) has a special military support building that gets you really good empire knights. Focus on non-Reiksguard cav there. I recommend the Reiksfort in Helmgart, as it's the most vulnerable city in Reiksland (right on that pass by Brettonia and dwarves/orcs), and the Reiksfort adds two garrison Reiksguard units. 3.) Don't put a gunsmith in Reiksland either. Put it in Nuln (the Wissenland province capital). Nuln has a unique building that makes artillery better and cheaper. 4.) Marienburg will be your money power-house, but public order is a big problem there. Be careful when confederating there especially. Cheers! -Alex

Just a friendly reminder: The Empire is heavily based on German, so W makes the V sound, SCH makes the SH sound, CH makes the K sound, an E and the end of a word makes the UH sound, IE makes the EE sound and EI makes the EYE sound. Good playthrough so far looking forward to more.

The empire and its vassal-like neighbors are based on the Holy Roman Empire and the “bretonnian” kingdoms based off feudal France. Which is why bastonne thinks the empire aren’t true knights. (A common stigma between French and German knights )

That was a vampire rebellion that razed the fort. When vampiric corruption is super high vampire armies will spawn, either to take the settlement for the counts or dispose of it. That's why they disappeared once the settlement was gone, and were able to even attack it in the first place.

Builds? All small towns should be protection, money, chaos decrease so that means Walls, Tailors and Shrines. Altdorf neds cathedral, docks, barracks, armory and gunsmith. A second provincial capital should have the armory, gunsmith and stable builds and a third provincial capital should have the wizards conclave. All that land through the Helmgart pass offers easy pickings that you NEED!!!!

Kudos to you Lionheart. Your the only youtuber I've seen that actually plans preemptive measure's against chaos corruption. Thou let me just offer you this advice. Make sure Hellsing is the best assassin possible, because once chaos arrives, your really going to want him to be up to standards.

As you seem to forget what spells you have on your hero's you should probably get 2 powerful spells rather than 4 weaker ones. So its easier to remember the hero's specialisation

It's probably better to have a more versatile wizard. The cool down effects really aren't worth anything

it actually makes the spells stronger, like longer duration, higher damage etc. You can preview it by right clicking the spells and toggeling the "upgraded" button. Its not just the cooldown, that wouldnt be worth it ever.

+Max Johnstone cooldown is the only thing that is mentioned on the tooltip, weirdly enough. I dont know why, but magic doesnt seem to be well presented in TW:Warhammer. For example, i don't think you can see how much damage a spell exactly does per hit or per second. The spell overview only tells you things like range and duration

Hey Lionheart, I think you should check your settlement in Ostermark (Essen I believe). From the looks of the land around that settlement, there maybe some Vampiric corruption spreading in that province. You may need to put your witch hunter there or invest in a shrine of Sigmar.

just a heads up, the shrine of sigmar is basically essential in every province due to the prevalence of chaos corruption later in the game. If you don't have them ready, your chaos corruption will go through the roof very quickly

I have fun in the strategic map play, so I enjoyed watching you navigate the strategic map this video. It built up some nice suspense for the next video, which should have a couple of battles at least. I also learned more about how to confederate, as this has been an elusive feature for me in my Empire game.

You're probably actually better off to just auto resolve the siege at templehof straight away to save yourself the turns it will take to make the siege equipment. You have such s huge advantage in the balance of power that you'll actually probably lose less vs the towers

Awesome video lion Just wanted to say that when a faction offers you a diplomacy deal if you counter it the chances are often high so you can demand a little bit of extra money to make the deal even better for you.

Hey lionheart, u can assign d mount trait for u'r heroes and then take it out in their details tabs, so u can already buy The upgrade, u just don't need to use it, and also it's good to have a mount available to travel faster, I guess it changes the campaign map movement range too. U can change before a battle to keep him on foot if u wish

Don't know if it's been said, but there are agents that can reduce building costs by up to 25% in the local province when deployed, I use them a lot to get a nice discount on my buildings when growing my settlements.

I think you should go to take that peace treaty with vampires count as you are war against an enemy that needs times to convert the culture . However , you needs time unless you wants to have rebellion in your newly conquered land .

The Vampire army that razed Oberstyre was the rebel army that spawned there. They should still be there, because you can't move after you've razed a settlement.

What I would think would work well is choosing a couple unit production buildings in your capital province, but then building other unit production and places where you buy agents in other provinces. You do have global recruitment so you don't HAVE to be in that province to buy those units, but that way you can spread out your empire and make it whole and not just 1 dominant province

LH has a stretch empire, meaning that a large amount his land is easily accessible by enemy forces. I would peace the vampires and focus north or south to round out the empire

If I may have one criticizing (everything else is fine) your play style: please notice that in episode 5, in the battle with Carstein (25+) you forgot a bit about your one unit of swordsmen that lost many fighters and retreated. And because of that mistake (or move intentionally made) you - sorry for the word - wasted so many turns in that, and this episodes. You could do so much with that time. It is not the first time, you also have waited for so long at the beginning - after first or second battle. I know you wanted to replenish your troops, but: a) you could merge them - loosing one unit and recruiting new - you would have lost some experience b) you could help them during the battle - because they were "left alone" a bit and your other troops were free - no problem, but this move costed you so many turns, so many opportunities lost because of this c) you could move with this one unit not fully replenished - and be extra cautious during the battles - they don't need to be in the middle, they could help with flanking or just be not in the centre - because (it's probably your play style) at almost every battle you have one or two units that are a bit overused and decimated, and some that are practically intact (you can also see the battle from the episode 2 - with Empire Seccessionists - there was also one unit of swordsmen on the right flank that was left alone against 2 other units and lost 80 men - you could either save them, or just move despite them not being fully replenished and made sure next time they won't be that striking unit Anyway, thank you for your consideration and please don't feel bad, everything is fine, it's just this one thing that itches me in the back of the head. ;))

Lionheartx10 upgrade walls in your capital and every capital you take and walls in every minor settlement it will make fighting Chaos easier when they come, you need to prepare better

Try to get Drakenhof before they upgrade it to tier 5. At the level, it gets a Terrorgheist and 2 Varghulfs in the garrison!

About the pronounciation of "Essen": this "ss" is like the s in "east" If i am correct these "ss" are double to show the "e" is a short "e". "Esen" would be like "Eesen" (with the e spoken on a germanic/dutch way)
