Can you still hear your sound staging when you're 10 feet off axis?

Thanks for posting. I believe everything you're saying is true. Something changed along the way with speakers, generally for the worse. I was wondering when you might do a review of the upgraded Aperion tweeters? am curious to see if they are an improvement to the previous model you reviewed here. Thanks

Everything I'm saying is absolutely true. I wouldn't try to gaslight anybody. Because there was a time in my life, I could not afford the best equipment out there and I struggled to get real good sound. I think we all go through it especially if you're just a middle-class individual, not making the big bucks right off the bat in your life.

Nice chamfer for the Altec 416 (?) front baffle..

I had those done back in the 90s the early 90s in fact and back then to make those baffles cost me over $600 apiece. But I felt the $1200 being spent was better than buying brand new speakers.

I think you "THINK" you can place the musician in the jazz club is because "SEE THEM" . BUT you might be on to something.

Actually, it wasn't me who coined the phrase."It sounds like you're at a nightclub." It was some musicians that actually listen to my system and stated that.

I use a Marantz turntable with a Mac phono stage which I have modified the turntable. Conrad Johnson premier, 11A, 10 and 9, and the Conrad Johnson, CDR 1 CD transport. Now, I'm using the McIntosh 500 transport, which I have to admit is better than the old Conrad Johnson CD transport.

I easy to criticize, but in the real world things don't always work out. And they only have a few days to set up.

I get exactly what you're saying. I think that they do not give people enough time to really listen to equipment and decide whether or not they want to spend their money on it.
