I thought this ending was genius and brought everything around full circle. This is purely my interpretation so take it with a grain of salt. Season 1 ended with Shen Yi’s nightmare of his dark side being revealed - S2 continues with Shen Yi trying to hone it to do predict crime but in the end saw the danger in doing so. When Fang Kai Yi said Shen Yi had the most beautiful gene, it’s probably the dormant MAO-A gene (the chalkboard picture at the end shows Shen yi holding a paint brush in one hand and what looks like a knife in the other - the criminal gene) The “cliffhanger” scene is again Shen Yi’s dream just like S1- this time it shows what would happen if he followed his dark path. The smile from Du Cheng at the end represents Shen Yi’s decision to choose the other path ( notice the two way sign at the entrance to the alley).

It's nice to see, to read that someone understands the ending in the same way as I do. Personally, I love that there are so many details in these endings. You can see not only the character of the person but also what would have happened if a certain person hadn't been in his life and where his personality would have developed. I really admire everyone who was involved in this project, be it actor, director, writer, producer, cinematographer and so on. It's a very complex series and I think it's impeccable. It has everything you could possibly need.

im so glad to read your comment. i knew it wasn't a bad ending since it's impossible for Ducheng to get stabbed by Shenyi's past self. it doesn't make any sense, but knowing the meaning at the end makes so much sense. this series is truly beautiful and im expecting a lot for the 3rd season.

The love I have for this tv show is immense. Not only crime thriller/police drama is my favorite genre, but I never thought I would see detective work combined with art and psychology like this. And certainly not in the way it has been done in Under the Skin. I still wasn’t following Tan’s career when he played Shen Yi the first time around, but this time, after having watched him in a myriad of different roles, it’s hard not to see how solid an actor he is. After some years of having stepped into this role, it’s noticeable how much he knows the character of Shen Yi from inside out, and how much he was able to improve on a performance that was already impressive. Much like his understanding of Xiang Liu’s essence was what made his portrayal so memorable and compelling in 2023 and 2024, the same can be said about his quiet but powerful return as troubled-artist-turned-police-officer Shen Yi. We’re never too sure about what he’s going to do next or how far he’s willing to go, because Shen Yi keeps his foes, and the viewers, on their toes. His innocent look hides a darker, potentially dangerous persona, and just like his blank canvas and the blank pages of his sketchbook, we can never really know what lies behind his eyes until the whole artwork has been revealed. There were some truly poignant moments in this season, with cases that ranged from painfully heartbreaking to utterly gruesome, but what they all have in common is that no matter how complex the cases may seem, Shen Yi can see (and paint) everyone’s true colors. All in all, it’s always a pleasure to watch Tan Jian Ci act, and as Shen Yi, it is as if you were admiring your favorite work of art in a museum. Bring on season 3!

Honestly, love it. Just like its season 1, season 2 is amazing as well. After calming down, It doesnt feel like a full circle to me at all, the rooftop scene and the scene where he gets Fang Kai Yi to surrender himself, basically the main story of the series, becomes pointless if SY gives into his inner demons. Him saying he's different from FKY makes zero sense, and him hurting Du Cheng makes even lesser sense after the rooftop scene. This ending was abrupt after these two specific scenes, both beautifully done, but rendering the ending inconsistent. I think they needed something to get back viewers for the S3, and they decided to go with hurting the fan favorite. UNLESS its a dream yet again, where it would make more sense, still not my favorite note to end the season on.

It was exposed that someone pretended being TJC fan on another actor hall, tried to make issue. I saw Bilibili and Weibo reports that after UTS season 1 success, TJC was harassed. He got threatening messages and pictures of his face being burned by them. Being popular came with some risk. So, be careful & don't believe any rumors.

Концовка, конечно, просто - треш))) Сценарист был в ударе, такого эпатажа, наверное, никто не ожидал)) Это как выйти на площадь в дорогом стильном классическом костюме и станцевать стрептиз, когда от тебя ожидали увидеть икону стиля))) Очевидно, что ждем 3й сезон?))

Или вы серьезно считаете, что я просмотрела весь сериал с субтитрами, потому что не было возможности увидеть любовных романов?))) Смешно) Вы имеете право высказать свою точку зрения и свои эмоции, но не решать за меня что мне смотреть.
