I think it's cuz even while they're not saying it in front of the WoL who they know is hurting, they're still kinda pissed at Uri for lying/hiding his serious as hell deal with G'raha to them for years... which makes me feel even sadder for Uri, the introvert as he is :((

7:07 is the real Thrancred character development for me. That he once again had to accept that he wasn't able to protect his daughter. That after he was knocked out Emet shot her and she fell unconscious before she can reach you. But he didn't freak out about it this time. Just closed his eyes in pain and acceptance, that she chose to be there and she could die with us and Thancred can't do anything.

Something crazy about Emet Selch's departure is that you can see the "true" state of Amauroth at that rooftop, with its keeper vanquished the magicks altering it are partially vanished.

Its symbolic, that Emet-Selch abandoned hope to restore it and finally see what it really is. Long dead dream.

I'm just gonna take a snippet of Lyrics from the song that plays after you killed Emet, because it hits so hard: Pray don't forget us, your bygone kin With one world's end does a new begin And should our souls scatter unto the wind Still we shall live on Man, Soken and Ishikawa are nailing it.

doesn't matter how many times i see it, g'raha's "tis good to be awake" moment always, ALWAYS gets me. I've never been able to sit through that moment without shedding a tear of joy.
@Krescentwolf Жыл бұрын
It's probably been said by now but... the 'tis good to see you awake' option used to be a missable thing. Back before the Crystal Tower was made mandatory, you could make it to this point without doing the raids. And If you did, that option wouldn't be available. Needless to say, you can see why they decided to make the CT raids integral to the story now.

I sometimes like to think that the entire reason they decided to write the entire shadowbringers story was so that they could have the perfect moment where the WoL's silent, stoic nod was actually the perfect response in a conversation.

Fun lil fact, is that the dev team had NO idea Emet-Selch would be this popular with the players. It took them completely by surprise.

What I love about XIV expansions is that the base story is complete. There is no _in media res_ DLC patches added later in they way they did with XV, and they don't leave you with an unsatisfying half finished cliffhanger the way a lot of other MMOs do (including XI - it was absolutely guilty of it.) There is An Ending. Obviously there's way more to explore in the story and so many loose ends to tie up, but the bulk of the story arc has a conclusion that lets you log off and be satisfied.
@XernuhtZwei Жыл бұрын
Heavensward 2.0 WAS guilty of this. When Estinien gets possessed by Nidhogg after you squash Thordan, it's literally a "Look, you didn't actually stop the war yet!" moment since you already squashed Nidhogg earlier, and the Dragonsong War doesn't truly conclude until 2.3. That said, it's still impressive it's only happened once, and so long ago.

I love the sheer confidence that comes with killing off Emet. Ishikawa KNOWS she's good and has faith she can write new villains for us to love/hate. And she is right.
@zecendia Жыл бұрын
Its also nice because she gets to do that decision HERSELF Iirc Ysayle and Haurchefant were also characters written by her,and she was a bit upset that they were both killed off while in the hands of another writer,so when she became the lead writer she had full control over her characters.
