December 15th 2019 was the last day of service for the DDAR and DDM-1 trains. With the start of the new timetables across Europe it was over for the famous Dutch doubledeckers with green, red and blue seats. On December 15th the NVBS (Dutch Club Interested in Trains and Trams) organised one last drive through the Netherlands that, pulled by a locomotive series 1700, went through the entire nation. Not only DDAR and DDM-1 were removed from service, these trains also were the last trains to have the yellow with blue stripes livery that the Dutch Railways used since 1970.
In this long compilation we pay attention one more time to these trains. DDM-1, DDAR and the series 1700, even though these are not fully out of service just yet. I also put in some videos from the mDDM, even though these are rebuild into DDZ and not out of service yet.
