no wrists = no buy! boo! adding tinsel, making Amaya pink, getting rid of orange... so many reasons to pass. clear shoes, gross. to me the most disappointing thing is not getting more dolls of certain characters. it would have been great to see themed sets of new dolls of fan favorites like Brianna, Vanessa, Lily, Delilah, etc. feels like re-releasing these characters but in new lines would have printed money. making Amaya pink instead of just including Brianna in the main group is so odd! Guess they needed a blue-eyed white girl to round it out.

I think it's mostly MH reboot flashbacks. Mattel made the choice to make MH more kid friendly for G2, a very soft reboot taking away articulation etc just like RH is doing, and the brand died shortly after, so I think people expect the same will happen here. MGA isn't necessarily actively sabotaging themselves, they're just choosing to go down a road we've seen another brand do before so we expect it to end the same way I guess. If kids like it, cool for them, the dolls were always made for kids, but it certainly feels like MGA is actively choosing the death of RH *as we know it.*

I thought it was done intentionally, lowering the age range for RH, so that it’s not competing with the Bratz reboot that is also marketed for an older audience. MGA wants to focus on reviving Bratz. If RH stays in the same age appeal bracket as Bratz, then their two lines are in direct competition of one another. They don’t want that.

Everyone was wishing for separate clothes and they aren't cute (except for the skate one). Maybe there will be a new collection of dolls next year that we can all go over to.... Super depressing. I am intensely disappointed with the RH Rebrand, and since Shadow High is my comfort doll line, I have been more depressed than normal. I also hate the lack of wrist articulation in the RH Rebrand, the lack of lore for the Poopsie creatures in the RH Universe, and it just doesn't feel like the SH/RH doll line that I fell in love with. I recently made the difficult decision on my channel not to support the RH Rebrand dolls specifically, and it intensely pains me to have to do that!🖤💜😞 As for who my favorite SH/RH dolls are, the Storm Twins are my obvious favorites! I just love their character design and color scheme, and they intensely inspire me unlike any other dolls in my collection. To this day, they are my personal comfort dolls and I intensely love them!🖤💜

I was talking with my mother last night about how the new RH line-up would be better if they replaced Poppy and Ruby with dark-skinned characters -- they already have Michelle and Daria right there if they need an existing character. I'm just flabbergasted. And realistically, as a collector, I'm happy to not buy anymore Rainbow High dolls going forward because I just don't support the reboot. Series 4 was PEAK. If they are going to give us nothing, then let the kids have it. Monster High is way cooler anyway and my funds are limited.

RH never clicked to me the same way as OMG so I'm not terribly upset about the changes(in fact I'm crying more for omg and the tweens because no one is mourning for their decline, especially the tweens😭) but I do think it's incredible sad that RH isn't gonna deliver like it once did. I suppose it was inevitable but RH did grace us with some the gorgeous dolls I've ever seen in playline. The ones that I have I'll treasure for sure. Whatever RH plans, we'll see how it goes for them...

I remember that video of that white lady going off on those dolls calling them "slutty witch whores" probably got these companies thinking and now they tryna appeal to a younger whiter demographic and you can obviously see it. I'm glad we had a good run. You were right about the lack of diversity. Even if they are trying to appeal to a younger demographic they still should have dark skinned and ethnic looking dolls so I will be cherishing my girlies even more and I will definitely be scouring the internet for the ones I did not get yet. Victoria, Olivia, Priscilla, Simone, Margot, Carmen 🤞🏿 I hate these games comparisons but MGA needs to think and think quick they should. If I had a daughter and was deciding between this or MH I would go with MH. Yes they're fairy tale creatures, but the diversity alone between the core 5 along with Venus, Abbey and Catty is evident. Glad to finally have someone that adresses how painfully white the reboot is. We had the fourth and fifth series filled with diversity, especially the fourth one, just to revert to a majority white cast. Like, why not replace Jade with Jewel? If theyre not having Poppy then why not add Michelle or Meena? Krystal is a fan favorite, why not add her instead of Violet? Almost everyone having blue eyes?! Not a single doll with brown eyes?! I know I’m late to this drama, but I collected rh for two years right after high school, and ended up accumulating 32 dolls. They were the dolls that got me into doll collecting. I got out of collecting after 2022 and haven’t been in the scene since. I decided to go back to my beloved Target to grab a doll for old times sake about a week ago and I was SHOCKED at the cheapness of the dolls and the gimmicks! This reboot is making me sad, as rh was so essential to me as a young adult finding myself. Oh well… at least I was able to collect them during their golden years. I will always love every doll in my collection. My fave doll is Delilah btw 🤭💖

I’m honestly so disappointed with rainbow high, I fell in love with these dolls for their diversity and their designs that felt so thought out, I was scared when we got shadow high s3 cause the designs weren’t as seem less and the names are horrendous but I would take that over the reboot like NO WRIST ARTICULATION???. My favorite doll is Simone, she looks like a sun goddess to me, followed by Glitch - turns out I love the CNY head sculpt. That's why I bought Scarlet even though her outfit is super boring to me. I agree about the lack of diversity. If they were planning on dropping Poppy, why replace her with Amaya? Replace her with Daria, Phaedra, Coco... . The fashion packs are really disappointing. They look well constructed, but the fashion are boring, lacking the details that make me love RH clothes. I understand the they are aiming at a younger audience, thus the lack of hand articulation (lost hands make a doll no fun to play with) but I don't want them. I probably won't get any of them. On the one had, this really saddens me, on the other, my wallet appreciates the break.

Rainbow High got me back into doll collecting. My first RH doll was Emi Vanda. Honestly it's hard to pick a favourite because there are so many good dolls, such as Coco, Delilah, Daria, Zooey, Berry, Victoria and many more. I just purchased Runaway Jade and the Sunny and Luna two back and they're stunning. I have yet to unbox them. Just like you I was losing interest in RH and it's sad to see the brand go in this direction. I get that collectors are not the target audience and that they want to make the line more kid friendly, but it's sad to see the dolls losing wrist and tigh articulation. Like many others said, a rainbow isn't complete without orange. They could have kept Poppy and just gave her some pink accents if that makes her more appealing to kids since pink and orange mix very well (in my opinion at least 🧡🩷). As for diversity: Next to blue and violet, indigo is also a colour of the rainbow, so for a more diverse cast they could have included Krystal or Coco in the line-up instead of Amaya and they could have given Ruby brown eyes instead of purple since I think purple eyes don't really suit her.

Very sad and the end of RH for me unless they bring some new collector dolls/more high end ones. I really like Bella Parker, and even though some people don't like her, my Roxy Grand. I can't believe how bad RH looks now, and the drop in their quality :( I only found them when I discovered SH series 1. I was just getting back into doll collecting after years of not. It was nice to find a brand with beautiful dolls and good quality outfits. Now they are as bad as regular Barbies, or worse. Although most of Barbie collector dolls are really nice.

Personally, I'm so tired of the main characters! The Fantastic Fashion Line was great again because the dolls have improved since their beginnings (Jade and Amaya are my favourites from that series), but now it's really enough, and getting those characters again (without Poppy), only in lousier quality, sucks! And the lack of diversity is actually a big problem too! I think I could be more forgiving of MGA if they had used other, more diverse characters for the reboot. My favourites are still the Shadow High dolls, though, and I honestly hope they leave them alone! (I'd almost rather not get any new SH dolls than ones of poor quality!) On the other hand, there is one good thing about this development: I can concentrate more on Bratz and Monster High next year.😉

Wave 4 and 5, and wave 1 and 2 of shadow high were just complete design peak. I can’t really say I liked a single doll after them. The main roster of rainbow high was just so generic I couldn’t vibe with them and they never actually expanded the roster beyond the poc being occasional side characters I feel like even beyond representation, we need to see a diverse cast just for the sake of seeing distinct and unique designs. If your characters can become the person next to them by swapping hair and outfit colors, something’s wrong. Lastly, something about Sunny has never sat right with me. Idk if it’s the yellow against her skin, the pink lips, the skin glare, or what but her skin has always looked orange more than brown to me so I’ve never seen her as anything other than a girl wearing ganguro makeup 💀
