Here in Michigan, I left a 250 head dairy farm and I knew I loved life raising cattle. It has inspired me to take on my grandpas empty land he intended to farm 25 years ago but never could do to health problems.now at 23 years old I am becoming a first generation farmer, I have 18 heifer calves I raised last fall and 2 angus bull calves I purchased 3 months ago. All bottle calves I raised while working a 60+ hour work week on my own. People like you and Your wife inspire the future of me and my soon to be wife’s future ranch story. Keep making videos it’s appreciated by the little guys like me.

Great edit, Mike. Crushed that I missed your editing technique when we lost the 24 hr stream. I'm lucky enough to have not missed any work during the virus, making shade in the desert always pays. Damn Prairie Dogs! Those holes are going to break a calves leg. I can't watch the ranch loose anymore calves, it's heartbreaking. Thanks for sharing, Mike -EZ

Im still crushed that 24hr stream was lost. Amazing what happened in 24hrs. Could never b repeated, all the challenges, highs/lows, humor, frustrations and learning where the wifi drops out, lol. KZbin really should have taken steps to recall and preserve that stream, i can only imagine the views/adds they are going to miss.

Mike and Erin, y'all are amazing for sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly of the ranch. I will fully admit I cried my way through the beginning of calving. I cried at the two stillborns, the two you lost, and when Faith and Goliath were born (I actually screamed when you said Goliath was alive and scared my husband 😬), so I can't even imagine the emotions y'all go through, but you still brought us with you. Thank you so much for that and here's hoping you're able to get a little more sleep soon!

This is a great guy, family, and overall great perspective on life. Thanks for your words and for giving us insight on ranch life. Amazing video. You have some beautiful new lives on the ranch. Si much fun watching them grow up. My grandpa had a beef cow ranch and pigs for a few years. He probably had 2000-4000 cows it was back in the 60's he died when I was 12 grandma sold the ranch had a auction.

Just found your channel and I'm having a serious walk down memory lane. I was born and raised on a farm/ranch/dairy. Dad worked hard to keep it all going at once. The baby season was always a favorite of mine, even baby pigs are born cute! I'll gladly watch the calving (and any other type of ranch animal) season. I was one of the bottle baby crew, somebody had to feed them if mom can't or won't. This is an amazing channel!

Mike is a very good story teller. Good pace to the narration with matching video clips. This video was somewhat of a bummer with the calves that didn't make it, but there were some success stories mixed in. The underlying message is that it ain't easy being a farmer. After the video, I double checked to make sure I was subscribed. Very interesting videos for me. My life couldn't be more different. I have worked my entire career in nuclear power after graduating from Georgia Tech about 35 years ago. I've never owned more than a acre of land.

Hey Mike I just want to say I have learned more about life on a ranch and calving and heifers by watching your vlogs. You have a way of explaining everything from beginning to the end so that everyone understands it. And life on the ranch is not always easy you showed us the ups and downs and that's more realistic. @sandykien42334 жыл бұрын
@@OurWyomingLife Oh yes, is is very different, because we don´t have so much space for our animals. You have got a lot of land, in our country cows are looked up in the barn, can´t move the hole wintertime long, get their calves often with human help and then they are taken away from their mums. It´s not the kind of farming I like. We only have got horses and would like to have more space. But I don´t get it. I really like to watch your videos. It shows how it is to keep cows on a natural way. Calves are together with their Mums and I can laugh about your comments sometimes. It feels like you are so happy to get a healthy calf, which is standing, moving around and growing. Austria is a very small country and the farmers have a lot of rules from the EU. Farming in our country is a challenge. Would like to see Wyoming by myself and get a touch of that, what you are doing. On time, not possible and after Corona it will get expensive. Sorry for my austrian english.
