Watching through this series makes me wish I'd spent more time updating my old code before now. I abandoned my cheat client in 1.12 because I was still using MCP to write it as a coremod and haven't had the time to rewrite it all basically from scratch for forge or fabric. @@mollthecoder I'd say the time ratio between computer and human work would be higher for sine-stuff and roots and such when compared to addition and subtraction. Sure, those are easier for computers but it kind of defeats the point if you make it easier for humans too. Also, I thought computers could calculate them fairly quickly. Perhaps not as fast as addition and subtraction, but not too much more than an order of magnitude slower. Calculation definitely won't be a computer's limiting factor anyway, as long as we don't move to proof of work type un-captchas. -Also, 2 seconds is way too fast. What if you have bad ping and simply can't get the message back despite reading, calculating, and sending instantly?- edit: just checked and it seems 2000 ms ping is more-or-less unheard of, and only happens in spikes, so I guess the restart button would already solve that problem.

.0 is actually the edge of the block, would be nicer to limit the movements to quarter blocks (x = .5 or x = .0) so instead of "... % 10 == 0" you would do "... % 5 == 0". This way you allow hackers to be perfectly center of a block. Kinda tingles my OCD. Edit: Just realized the *1000 takes care of that, so no problem there. Oups.

Hey, once you get into more advanced plugin development, I recommend learning about java reflections and objectweb asm or spongepowered mixins. They are really helpful for modding the parts of the game that the bukkit api doesn’t give access to.

It's enough if either x or z mod 10 is 0, so you could modify the client to snap either of them to 0, whichever would result in a smaller error.

I would just do something like if x % 10 = 0 newMovePacket, so to others it would look like you are teleporting around, while to you it is smooth (that is pseudo code, and it might be a bit more complex, but I think that is the gist of it)

@@m4rt_ yes, i think when ever a move packet is created one of the coordinates needs to be "fixed". One problem i see here is that there are multiple move packets. (At least in version 1.12 there where) An especially the relative move packets could be tricky. But i guess you could mod your client to always use absolute movement positions. Nvmd. The relative packets seemed to be clientbound so no problem there. But still there are a few packets that can trigger client movement.

When I join the server instantly kicks me. I don't know exactly why but my guess is that the server creates an internal PlayerMoveEvent. My client doesn't send any bad packets. I would apeacheate it if you would teleport the kicked player to a valid postion before kicking the player (e.g. Spawn or Current Block position)

I don't think this is needed to circumvent the plugin. I managed to get a movable player without having rund coordinates. I think the client sends an initial position. My problem is that i get kicked after a some movements.

With the help on some people on the Server I got the solution: There is a floating point error in the calculation on some coordinates. The solution is to just check for the floating point error and cancel the packet. But someone still needs to kill you to reset your location to spawn.

@@0xTas Your client sends one PlayerMoveC2SPacket directly after join and in a regular time interval (even if you don't move). Just block all outgoing PlayerMoveC2SPackets and you will not be kicked for being a human. If you are on the server you can just ask somebody to kill you.

@Sebastian Moser yeah scanning for hetzner is Abit of a pain since I would need to whois every ip and yeah I've ran the scan 8 times and get so many different results each time and my database has decided to shit itself so I can't even add the new entries. scanning for servers by version is by far way more efficient than just scanning through all of them in general e.g my entire database is about 4.5k servers but just scanning for 1.18.2 servers has found about 2.5k so far

If you play too much with spigot plugin, you will end up to it limitation. In my case, i wanna force player to perform Trident spin attack. But spigot API doesn't have it. Now, i have my own paper server with my additional API.

At 9:34 the code "e.getFrom() != e.getTo()" is not valid, as "!=" in java check that the instances are the same. The code "e.getFrom().equals(e.getTo())" is a valid replacement, it doesn't matter anyway because bukkit don't trigger PlayerMoveEvent if the player didn't moved. The most concerning part is that the code use "player.getLocation()" which work exactly like "e.getFrom()", so if someone messes up movement once, they can't join back.

I did literally one internet search and the IP was at the top of the results, i feel like you need a better way to hide your server since a single bad apple could leak the IP to the public.

@@georgehammond867 Nah, the reason was a little different. He wanted players, that really "know" something about coding etc. Those people made the bypass really easily and are calmly playing on the server.
