I doubt they will kill off Jones but I do have to say there are a lot of hints that it might happen as they have been moving away from the previous storyline from Donald Mustard, and into a new storyline with Hope as the main character, so far Jones has been the only one connecting the previous storyline with the one in Chapter 5 so for that reason I think he will stay but if they do choose to kill him off it better be animated in a live event not some loading screen or it happens off screen.

I also dont think their killing Jones, dude is literally immortal. What could realistically happen is this current version of Jones is be sent to The Marvel universe, why I say that is both him and The Peel(Peely)verine both Fortnite Characters turned into Marvel Skins 2 out of 3 skins at that. Now it is possible why we go back in time is to "prevent Jones death" by giving him information about Doom since we think Jones is dead. Also even though a mentor dying is a typical trope in story telling, its also not the only way to remove a character from the story. They can not be doing as much fighting but also teach more people about their skills and experience
