The End of Lindsay and Carl Part 2 (Summer House Finale Full Recap pt 2)

Whats up Bros? The conclusion of Summer House starts now... In this episode we pick up where the cameras picked up in NYC. Carl sits down with Kyle following a tumultuous fight between he and Lindsay. Kyle finally flat out asks, are you ready to get married? Highlighting that marriage won't fix your problems. Carl seems like his mind has been made up and is unsure of what to do next. Was Kyle the best person to have this sit down? Did we need someone less biased present? Either way, we get THE conversation the following morning. Carl sits down with Lindsay allegedly to hash things out and move forward. From where we were sitting it seemed like Carl when into that convo with his mind made up to end things. Listing a whole lot of reasons that are probably true (name calling, mean texts, yelling etc) but Lindsay probably has plenty of valid reasons as well. The bottom line is these two were not meant to be together. Was it a blindsiding? Lindsay calls her dad to tell him and his response? "Oh boy"...? Oh boy... The ladies of Summer House get together following the news and the majority is down the middle, they didn't belong together this is for the best... Gabby however has taken a firm stance on team Lindsay. Lindsay comes in and doesn't know where the break up came from... Now the questions remain. Was she blindsided? Did Carl set her up with the cameras? What team do you support? Or are you like us.. At the end of the day this is two people that never should have gotten engaged and thank goodness they didn't go through with the marriage...

The reason why Karl brought up the career thing is because that IS the thing that he can’t stand the most about Lyndsey. She was holding him accountable for something he does NOT want to address; his failure to truly be a responsible adult who can support a family. You don’t get to your 40s and NOT be doing that unless that’s the thing you don’t want to do.

Let’s just call it like it is. Carl wants to be with someone that will mother him, he wants a job that someone can virtually do everything for him. He wanted Lindsay to take care of him at home and Kyle to take care of him at work. Can we also talk about how Kyle gets away with everything Lindsey does but rarely ever has to take accountability.

I don't think Carl felt safe to say how he really felt. He's so conflict avoidant that he really didn't know how to say how he really felt without the repercussions of feeling like or being portrayed as the bad guy. Lindsay was ready for their 4 part series of Lindsay and Carl getting married and then Lindsay and Carl are having a baby! They both deserve love and support but they aren't a match to provide that for one another.

Carl shouldn't have been a relationship with anyone. He is too fragile of a person and needs to grow on his own. He seemed very co dependant. Lindsay was just desperate to get married and was willing to make Carl work.

Come on guys, you are forgetting the context of why Carl wanted to leave Loverboy last year. Carl's relationship with Kyle was in a bad place. Kyle, Carl, and Lindsay were fighting each other. There was tension on a personal level. So naturally, Carl wanted to leave, especially when he was fighting with Kyle and Kyle was saying mean things about Lindsay. Now fast forward to the present when their relationship or friendship is in a more stable place and everyone is getting along. There is nothing wrong with Carl having a change of heart and returning to loverboy. Lindsay has steamrolled all his business ideas and this is the career that ticks the boxes as it promotes his sobriety. All Lindsay has to say is "Look, I don't agree with you returning to LB, but if this is what you want to do and if this is what makes you happy, then I'm behind you." That's all he wants...

I appreciate Gabby being a ride or die for Lyndsay but both her and Carl had no business being together to begin with. They were not compatible, I’m glad the other girls echoed the same. I hope they both learn from this failed relationship to do better and be better partners to their future significant other.

I'm not a Lindsey fan however they both are too blame. And he did the right thing walking away. They would have already been divorced by now had they gone through with it

I looked up what job Carl has now. He's still part-time with Loverboy plus he's produced a movie and has started his own media company (Radke Boys) to promote himself as a sobriety/mental health advocate. He's started giving speeches around the country. I think it's interesting that these are things Lindsay shot down.

The how matters a lot. How someone says something to you, how someone breaks up with you, how things are handled carries so much weight and significance. It’s a huge piece of the puzzle. For Amanda to say that the how doesn’t matter is actually absurd. I like all of the girls, I like Paige and Amanda, but way too much weight is given to their opinions. Lindsey is in a completely different phase of life than they are and they do not understand many things that come with age and experience and it is painfully obvious. For example when Paige was losing her mind on Kyle bc he wasn’t supporting Amanda’s start up idea. It’s clear that she’s not considering the entire notion of actually financial repercussions and debt and the company taking and their futures. The girls are funny and entertaining and have some cute one liners here and there- but their black and white opinions on matters they clearly have no experience in are weak. Heaven forbid someone actually corner Paige and ask her hard questions or ask her to compromise or say something that is actually fair and makes sense about her own relationship- she has a tantrum like a 5 year old. And her lack of compassion for Lindsay in the after show was gross. Amanda does the same thing but she’s smarter about it because she delivers her jabs softly and with a smile on her face. Carl and Lindsay weren’t a good fit. They both messed up and they both deserve compassion. And the way he orchestrated the end was absolutely terrible and immature.

What is ironic is Lindsay was the softest we have seen her this season. IMO Carl was p&ssed off because he kept trying to provoke Lindsay to yell, scream & carry on, but she was calm, logical & rational (apart from first two episodes). I think Carl is weak. Lindsay is driven & way too ambitious for him.

If she is too ambitious for him why did she want to keep trying. One thing I have learnt in a relationship, you won't always have a 100% of what you want in another human being bcz you are not either. My mother told me when I was about to get married 28 years ago. Find 1 thing you sooooo love about him and that surpass all you don't like in him. And make sure you can always come back to that and find your happiness. And that has kept my marriage. Linsdey wanted a FINANCIAL provider husband, Carl is not that. Carl wanted a soft gentle wife, Linsdey is not that. Carl did the right thing for both of them

Just a few thoughts IMO: yes, we know who Lindsay is but that doesn't mean that she can't learn, evolve, grow, etc over time 2 become an even better partner. Also, when Carl proposed, it was after the brother passed & Lindsay was being "soft & kind & supportive" but sadly she did revert back 2 "old Lindsay" which is what Carl was possibly disappointed about, causing him 2 slowly not be as attracted 2 her. Not a fan of how he broke up with her but she can't be blindsided when her fiance is not having sex w/her & continuously commenting about problems in the relationship. I think thats how bad Lindsay wants 2 b married & have a baby. She knows all this & still wanted to go through w/the wedding...bananas!! They were never meant 2 b together as a married couple.

I am struggling with the philosophy of you can't discount someone feelings. We have to pay attention this is how we are putting up with a generation that can't throw tantrums because they feel they are cats and aliens and we can't discount their feelings. If we all know /saw this relationship and agree that it was not going to work. Let help Linsdey by not agreeing with her so that she does better in her next relationship. Otherwise we are all Gabbys. We can't condone that she is used to arguing that she never saw this coming. This is a great occasion for her to know that constant arguments in a relationship is not the norm so she may want to check herself and do better. Linsdey needs Paige not Gabby otherwise she won't have what she wants. By the way can we adresse her no tears crying

If anyone is on Lindsey's side of this, I think you need to sit down and reconsider. Yes, he tried to get out of this situation, but she is a nightmare. He paid for 9 months of rent in their fancy apartment and is on a show that pays him, as well as having other sources of income, I'm sure. Career is important, but let's not act like Lindsey had a successful PR firm; she's an influencer because of the show, and he wanted to do the same. It's not rocket science. Lindsey knew how to be feminine when it came to Austin and wooing Carl. he was not asking for a lot, and the fact that she is comfortable with dysfunction speaks volumes about how toxic and disturbed this woman is. Not everyone is driven, but he wasn’t out there screwing other women, which I'm sure would have been easy for him. It's immature to think you can get everything from one person

You guys are going full Lala with the revisionist history of Lyndsay's behaviour on this show. Lyndsay has been well-behaved for only a couple of months. Before that, she emasculated Carl, demanding last year that he get involved in fights she was having with other cast members. She's diminished and said no to all his ideas about work, especially working with Lover Boy. She told him straight up no when he came up with an idea for possible career paths. She's accused him of using drugs on camera (twice) (something I would never get past), then she doubled down on her comments and, throughout the season, has shown him no support at all as he's tried to figure his shit out. She has done this to every boyfriend she's ever had. We watched it season after season. She loves bombs on them. She starts picking behaviours apart. She berates them. She triangulates with members of the cast to isolate the men, and then it all falls apart. Let's not forget that Lyndsay's only gone to therapy for a couple of weeks. When Carl talked with his parents, a lot remained unsaid. I believe something physical happened between Carl and Lyndsay, and his parents know about it.
