It's kinda tragic in a way because earlier in the movie Bardock expressed disappointment with Goku's weak power level and said "I thought you would be special", only to feel pride in his son towards the end. It came full circle

Yeah it was cool to see Bardock finally realize that his son was destined for great things.

This movie is technically the reason why Bardock exists and Toriyama liked it so much, he made Bardock a canon character. However, technically this special is no longer canon (or never truly was). This is because in 2014, Toriyama released the Dragonball Minus manga, that rewrote the story a bit so now the canon story is near 1-to-1 with superman's backstory, having Bardock and Gine sending Goku off so that he'd survive. But in Minus, Bardock doesnt see the future and only knows what Frieza plans to do based off a hunch or a gut-feeling

I feel like I remember that Bardock scene from so long ago, but, with the wife there to send Goku away before Frieza attacks.

Raditz = about 1500 Nappa = 4000 (at rest), when he charges to max he's at any number greater than 4000 and lower than 8000. At this point Raditz would be a kid, so he would be weaker.

In this movie, Bardock was stated to have a power level that's almost 10,000 when he was done healing. King Vegeta is probably a bit stronger than 10,000 but definitely way less 18,000 (since that's base saiyan saga Vegeta's power level).
