MJ's gratitude to Peter rings hollow when she didn't do for him what he did for her. That was never the case before. When Peter got mind-controlled in the 90s and was about to kill her, she had so much faith in him that he would be able to beat this that she didn't run away. When his identity was exposed, she was willing to turn herself in for him. She even saved him from Kindred. MJ was a tough, determined, resilient, ride or die, loyal woman. I don't know who this character is now.

I initially believed that MJ was under a spell or something that made her this way. It certainly seemed to be the case when the Demon revealed that her "kids" were created to keep her and Paul together. So, when they died, I hoped this would mean the spell was broken and she would wake up. Sadly, that was not the case. But who knows? Maybe this eight deaths of Spidey thing will reveal that MJ is still under a spell and Paul has been casting it on her this whole time.

This has to be the biggest middle finger to the fans since the first issue of this run. The fact that MJ took the time to thank Peter and acknowledge his sacrifice for her. Robbing his friends, teaming up with his arch-enemy, ready and willing to sacrifice his personal relationships all to save her and get her back. Only for her to leave him for another man and kids. Breaking his heart and abandoning him despite Spidey literally crossing realities for her. She acknowledges his love for her and thanks him for risking everything for her and bringing her home, only to then go on a date with another man right in front of him, even kissing him. And He's OK With It?! That is such a slap in the face to everyone who loved Spider-Man and MJ. It assassinates MJ's character so hard as there's still no reason why she's with Paul. Paul is the physical representation of everything wrong with Spider-Man comics. He is an unnecessary obstacle whose sole purpose is to keep Peter and MJ apart. And no matter how much the fans complain and show their disdain for the characters, the writers and editors continue to double down on him to the point that Peter is now friends with him. This SOB stole your girl, ruined your life and is a constant reminder of what you lost, and you're gonna just about how you love his chicken recipe? Zeb Wells and Nick Lowe truly hate Spider-Man and his fans if this is what they are going to give us. Spider-Man deserves better than this. We all do. I pray for a light at the end of this tunnel. Cause this can't go on like this.

I recently made a pretty solid modern Spider-Man story. Hear me out: Ben Reilly planning to assassinate Paul because Paul is working at Beyond, and he's a mole stealing information about the company. So Ben finds out and takes him out for good in his redemption arc. So Ben, Kaine and Janine all team up to take out Paul. They all pinned down Paul and this reveals that Paul a shapeshifter demon send by Mephesto. Jackpot reveal to be a fake clone created by Mephesto and the Jackpot. After the fight between The Parkers vs Paul and Jackpot. Before Paul dies he tells the Parker’s that the original MJ is still stuck in the other dimension. So the Parkers goes to the other dimension and retrieved MJ.

I'll edit a bit: rather than MJ still being stuck in the other dimension, Paul reveals Mephesto's game with Peter and MJ. He reveals that his barging with them didnt edit history, it just hid things. In fact, Peter and MJ have been married this whole time, now that it's revealed, memories flood back to the couple and they start to put things back together. Meanwhile, Osborn after finally being truly rid of the Goblin comes 100% clean with Peter. When MJ was pregnant, and after she gave birth, their child didn't actually die, she was kidnapped under Osborn's orders both under the influence of the goblin and after having made a deal with Mephesto himself. May (Mayday) Parker, is in fact alive, but doesnt know her true identity. Because the future Mephesto saw of him being defeated by Spiderman's daughter can't come true without her knowing who she actually is. Osborne then delivers Mayday back to the Parkers. She has been well taken care of, and a very bright young girl of (4-6 years old in 616 time). This begins the next chapter of Peter trying to balance being z superhero and a dad and a husband. Peter and MJ also Renew their Vows (as a Vows to thd readers shit like OMD will never happen again.

The TLDR is: if a character got a perfect conclusion, should die at some point (I love Aunt May but her death is the perfect symbolism for Peter growing up), and you don't have anything left to do with them... All this story does is make me reflect on how awful and bizarre this run is and that it's been exhausting since day one... Okay, but seriously, I ironically believe that Zeb Wells, Dan Slott, Joe Quesada, and Nick Lowe think that all Spider-Man fans are just sadist and that we only read Spider-Man to see Peter suffer. Even though as I pointed out on my comment, on your "If This Be My Destiny" video there's nothing wrong doing a story where Peter Parker hits rock bottom, but he has to have some triumph at the end, and it all has to be realistic, well written, and earned, and I could go into more detail but you've already saw, my comment on that video so I really don't need to. Also, to quote Brandon Sanderson "Writers are very similar to stage magicians. A stage magicians job is to keep you distracted by one thing while they're doing something with there hand over here." His lecture on this does go on for some time, and I do recommend watching it, but to sum if your audiences thinks that the "writer just wants to do one thing, that doesn't make a good story, and/or just doing something that needs to happen for the story to progress it's an issue because the audience doesn't get engaged in the story, they just get frustrated." This run is basically "Let's not try and tell a story, and just make Peter suffer, because no one cares about anything but that." Which is a massive misreading, (and makes it so that it's hard to get engaged in the story because it never feels like anyone is trying to tell a good story and that there just trying to see how much they can make Peter suffer) because this may come as a shock to the hacks that made this run but audiences do actually care whether or not the story is good, and WERE NOT SADISTS!!!!!! Though the same thing cannot be said about Zeb Wells, Dan Slott, Joe Quesada, and Nick Lowe because those buffoons probably get off to pain. To quote Keeper "Our watchword is efficiency, not brutality; there's no room for sadists here." (I find it interesting that this quote from an Imperial from Star Wars is what the people working on ASM comics should be told.) Finally, while I don't like the idea of erasing stories just because I don't' like them, but I still find it interesting that Spider-Man has a villain (in Mysterio) who basically allows the writers to retcon *basically* anything they want because f his abilities, and tech.

Issue 60 was a pain to read, nothing gets resolved. Tombstone walks away victorius,. Rekcrap stays as hero in Asm. Maryjane stays with mass murderer Paul. JACKPOT is not going away. For some reason only the Spider-man/wolverine story was pointless but felt genuine. The aunt May story felt like zeb suddenly remembered she was still around. The only pretty thing i took away from this Issue was the nice Black Cat cover. I so hoped Paul would have been removed. Only reason i bought the Issue.

At this point...I legit don't feel anything for Amazing Spider-Man comics. Even if Zeb Wells leaving or Nick Lowe going to find another writer, I just don't know...I DON'T KNOW where will ASM go from here, either STILL being bad or someone ELSE being sane enough to make main Spider-Man be great again, although knowing how comics are being run or the Editors be in the hot times of November, I do say it's not likely it will happen anytime soon. All we can do, us Spider-Man fans, is hope Ultimate Spider-Man (2024 or the whole New Ultimate Universe) would do well on its own for a good while with the teams keep their vision than being another "Yes, man" people to make daring stories anymore or trying something new. I was so disgusted by the MJ and Peter story; I didn't bother reading the rest of the short stories. Why not? Because this isn't a Spider-Man book to me. I don't know what this is except I know its garbage. I don't know how many issues "ASM" is selling these days, but when "ASM # 55 and # 56" are ranked 12th and 13th on the comics sales list, there's a problem. Personally, I have no idea why people who are Spidey Fans are buying this trash. The future of "ASM". We all know that the "8 Deaths of Spider-Man" is a mini storyline to justify making Justina Ireland the new "ASM" writer after this mini run is over. If the book is somewhat successful, she'll be made the next writer of this book. Whoooopppeee! Another activist who is not only a talentless hack, but doesn't have a friggin clue on how to write Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Even if the miniseries isn't successful, who knows who the next talentless hack will be. Since 2007 with the "OMD/BND" storyline "ASM", for the most part has been atrocious. The Nick Spencer run was OK to good, and except for a few other storylines, the book has been terrible. We also know from Nick Lowe's appearance at the comic con, Kelly/Ireland will probably bring Felicia back to be with Peter. Why? Because most Spidey fans can't stand Shay as a love interest. What a joke! Per my last comment, why would Aunt Anna want MJ and Paul together and want Peter with Shay? Aunt Anna was the one with Aunt May (who now Peter calls May) who set up Peter and MJ up where the iconic 1st Meeting happened way back in "ASM # Vol, # 1 42" back in (cover date) Nov 1966. Do any of these terrible modern writers even know this fact? I doubt it. For the immediate future we're going to see the "8 Deaths of Spider=-Man". Do any Spidey fans really want to see this storyline? I don't. We all knew Tombstone wouldn't go to jail at the end of this horrible run. Did we really think Janice Lincoln would testify against her father? I didn't. What an epilogue! We didn't see what happened to her or why she left town. Did she have a change of heart after her father tried to kill her? Yeah sure, whatever. This is truly one of the worst runs in the History of "ASM". Right up there with the Joe Quesada and Dan Slott run. I had enough of this nonsense. Why follow this book at all. I had a reply from a commenter who's been following "ASM" from the 1970s but won't give up following this book. His heart won't allow it. I respect his decision; however, what do you think is going to happen to Peter Parker/Spider-Man after this miniseries? More losses, more irrelevant storylines, more cameos of Paul and MJ, more cameos of Fellicia and her girlfriend because you know Peter and Felicia won't stay together long and will break up for the 21st time since 1985. What the fudge is this? Is Ms. Marvel going to come back into "ASM", especially if "The Spectacular Spider-men (TSSM)" is canceled. Is Miles Morales going to take over from Peter Parker on Earth-616? So then in the Ultimate Universe 1610 where "USM" is taking place Peter Parker is with MJ, and "ASM" the mail 616-universe Miles Morales is now Spider-Man. The complete opposite what happened in the original Ultimate Spiderverse storyline. Remember in that storyline, Peter Parker/Spider-Man didn't die, he retired. Great writing there. More terrible storylines are the only possible future at this point. This book will get worse, not better. I've said what needs to be said. Whatever the next storyline will be after this miniseries won't be good. If it is, I'll return to following "ASM", but I'm not expecting anything worthwhile to follow at this point. Please make Felcia and Peter a power couple. It would be great to see that. First and foremost, I want Peter and MJ together, but it's not going to happen. It hasn't happened except for short term storylines, and I don't expect it with Ireland or whoever follows this miniseries because Nick Lowe is a friggin idiot and doesn't want this to happen. Considering all the bullshit from the beginning of the run, with MJ treating him like shit and instantly giving him the cold shoulder after she came back, why are they even still acting all buddy buddy? I'm someone who is okay with Ben staying as Chasm as long as it's done right. ASM #60 had me excited up until those last pages. It goes completely against his character arc in Curse of Kaine and does nothing but set him back to how he was when he first started as Chasm.

I've got the perfect way to start the next run of with a bang that would sell a thousand copies, have Peter remember his deal with Mephisto and immediately cut to him shouting a Mephisto "The deals off!" Maybe he could bring Daredevil and Dr strange and they could find a loop hole in Mephistos deal that makes it possible where Peter get his marriage back and Aunt may could still be alive due to that loop hole

Honestly I get little comfort from Wells being off the title. Sure the perpetrator may be no more but his effects are still with us. MJ is still ruined. Ben is still broken. And Kelly has zero intent to fix anything. It's a like a Smoker who stops after they get cancer. The source may be gone, but the cancer still grows unless you treat it. And Nick Lowe has no intention of treating it.

ASM is done for. If you want to read a real Spidey comic go read USM. Or if you want the YA/teen Spider-Man, read Miles Morales. Even if Zeb gets replaced, Lowe and the rest of the Spidey office won't let 616 grow up into an actual character. If ASM refuses to do Spider-Man right, don't read it.
