Excellent drama. If viewers can laugh, hate,cry, then actors done their job perfectly. Yes, plot is really harsh, but life never was easy in imperial clans. Rich always abused working class. In every country it's the same. The work on this drama is tremendous and soulful.

The Crown Price cried so much in this C-drama. Dude had no balls. The leading actress I couldn't tell if she were the Crown Prince or enemy. But overall great acting!

This is the first time I am scared to watch a Chinese drama. The snippets I've watched here on KZbin have left a heavy ominous feeling behind. The abuse heaped on the young lady was horrific but much worse was the abuse heaped on the ML by his own father. From the comments no one has enjoyed it.

Please reconsider watching it. It is truly a masterpiece. Yes, it is intense but the choreography , the custumes, the storyline , soundtrack and the superb acting of Luo Jin and Li Yi Tong and the other actors is something I will never forget. Why it did not gain awards is beyond me. Truly an outstanding drama. and in my top 5 of all time.

This was the most horrible drama to endure. So intense and negative that it is sickening to the soul. It was NOT entertaining and hardly think it is even healthy for one’s mental health. 😂

@@aerielcoats when she went to talk to the prince she told him she'd told the Emperor that she was pregnant and that she WAS a member of the Gu family (which she wasn't,) - the Gu family was exterminated because they were traitors - as she was pregnant with the Crown prince baby she would have been spared until the birth and then executed. She wanted to die with the prince

Dove hai visto che ha detto all'imperatore che apparteneva alla famiglia Gu .Aveva solo detto che aspettava un figlio.L'imperatore quando va a trovare il figlio morto dietro alla porta li parla gli dice che voleva tanti nipoti insieme alla concubina per poi andarlo a trovare a palazzo. @@annetterawlings4549

❤❤❤ encierro una gran enseñanza , siempre recogeremos lo que sembramos ... gracias , es un gran elenco actores y un trabajo buenísimo , claro a nadie le gusta ver un final así , se sufre bastante y por éllo excesivamente dramático. Lo pude disfrutar en alemán y en español. Gracias.

В сериале увидела светлую печаль, конец не разочаровал, только проходя все трудности по настоящему начинаешь ценить свою любовь... Конец по своему светлый, император научился любить, ценить чувства, подрастает внук, который станет продолжателем отца, дедушки, династии. Игра главных актеров впечатляет, спасибо за эмоции, за чувства пережитые вместе!

Sanlang has a son he named Achen but still, I'm not too fond of the ending. Abao was not brave enough to face the reality of life he left a sad ending like that.he was supposed to be enjoying their life as a family. I almost watched this movie at 2 am..its good though I like the actor his good in acting especially his crying from his heart.

There are some stories that need to be told. Some of the great works of literature are horrific tomes of early human survival. Difficult to fathom but nonetheless exist. This production was a magnificent creation of cinematic art. The subtle introduction of love and hope, then the reality of betrayal starts the waves of emotions I was not prepared for. The continuous attack on character’s humanity stirred my internal resentment and my contempt for the reality of Dynastic liberties. I had to stop watching and return to the freedoms I expect and have been granted. Then, I had to return. I needed to know why and how humans endure such tragedy. Was the production entertaining? There are different methods we see, touch, taste, to be affected, to be challenged, to be more aware, and to grow emotionally, to a high level of consciousness. I chose to continue to watch this emotionally challenging visual adventure and I chose to allow the experience to produce an alchemical transmutation. Stunning production. It was the subtleties that destroyed me. 👏👏👏

Прекрасный фильм очень трагичен. Игра актеров,особенно г.г. Ло Цзиня великолепна. Отец боялся своего сына,боялся его военной поддержки,поэтому не верил ему,не мог понять как любит его сын,как он чист помослами. Любовь трагична. Жаль что так заканчивается фильм. Почему сценаристы не продумали смерть императора??? Тем более он уже болен и с головой давно не все в порядке. Тяжело смотреть.

Bonjour je comprends vos commentaires et j’ai eu des réactions similaires. En revanche je me suis aperçu qu’il y avait au moins une douzaine d’épisodes supplémentaires. Après les avoir visionnés j’ai été un peu plus apaisé. Mais je suis d’accords toutes cette souffrance n’est pas nécessaire. Pour moi c’est un drama noir psychologique le père est digne d’un SS..

Сериал для меня очень реалистичен: жесток и морально тяжел. Но в конце было противно смотреть на императора, который говорит, что будет сам лично воспитывать внука. Мало ему, что родного сына уничтожил, так в конце нам показывают его этаким добрым дедушкой, а по сути он сволочь редкостная. Вот это по мне вообще не соответствует действительности, для меня это единственная ложь в дораме.

Cette histoire est magnifique mais à une fin bien triste 😭. Lui avait tous les pouvoirs elle n'était qu'une simple femme à son service, il l'a traité de toutes les façons possibles mais ils se sont toujours aimés, le roi est très dur avec son fils. Elle lui donne un fils et partira avec son bien aimé . Bravo aux deux acteurs principaux ❤❤❤❤

Because he would be demoted and beheaded for what happened during the war when he was framed one more time. He did not know his father had discovered the fraud but came to him too late to save him.

Here is what happened at the end of the battle, from the Royal Nirvana novel: "Changzhou (city) reopened it’s doors to welcome the imperial commissioner. With him were hundreds of Jinwu guards and an imperial decree that read, “Xiao Dingquan(crown prince) has been dismissed from his position as crown prince due to his involvement in the rebellion. He must return to the capital immediately." His cousin from his mom side had rebelled becaus he want the crown prince to ge the throne and fix the greeat corruption in the bourts that was causing so much suffering to the people and righteous leaders.He was trying to convince his cousin to stop the fight. His father knew the truth after putting him in solitary....

Amazing actors. Don’t remember this end but second chance for the father to get it right. It’s scary how power can really be destructive in one’s family.
