"As he wandered through the halls of his great mansion Loki's gaze wandered over all the various baubles and trinkets he had collected: All manners of items he had won through countless battles, with foes ranging from the unimportant goblin to the generals of the gods themselves! Sets of armor brimming with power, chief among them a set of Torva Armor imbued with ancient blood magicks, the surface of the ancient metal as smooth as the day that he himself had reforged it from the shards won against the greatest agent of Zaros! Next to it his most prized posessions: Two pieces of armor from the long since passed Third Age, prized for their rarity among collectors, each piece valuable enough to buy a duchy in Misthalin or Kandarin. As his hand caressed the protective gear he remembered snippets of the trials he had to conquer in acquiring them... Moving on, he passed by the rack upon which rested the three great weapons that were essential in his rise to power and fame: The Twisted Bow, won from the lair of the mad mage Xeric, capable of firing arrows with such force and accuracy that not even the great Kree'arra could withstand their impact! Then the Scythe of Vitur, a blood scythe he had wrenched from the claws of the mutated Nylocas-Queen who had assumed Verzik Viturs form. Within her theater he also found an item with enough holy power to drive its corruption away, hallowing it in the name of Saradomin. And finally, Tumekens Shadow, the greatstaff capable of channeling the Sungods deadly power! Not only did he have to face the avatars of the demigods of the desert pantheon, but eventually Amascut, the Devourer herself! He felt a shiver running down his spine, knowing that it might not be the last he had seen of the mad goddess... As he stepped outside his eyes fell on the gaggle of pets he had adopted over the years, ranging from the mundane to the exotic and otherworldly! His servant had just finished feeding them, and so the pack of strange creatures all lay dormant on the grass, predators together with their prey, as peaceful as they could ever be. One more step, and he found himself in his throne room. Walking towards his seat he eventually sat down, and for the first time in forever he took a long breath, held it in, before slowly exhaling. The burden of his power and responsibility fell off of his shoulders for just a moment, allowing him to reflect: His life since he took his first steps on Tutorial Island, his arrival on Mainland Gielinor, and the journey he had undertaken. Much time and effort had he put into acquiring powerful skills and items...he had learned from legendary masters, studied musty tomes in forgotten libraries, learned spells fit to render asunder the land and sky! His weaponskill was unrivaled; the most skilled combattants called him their equal, yet he also understood the fine details of how to sear a shark to perfection. He could chop a magic tree in half with a single swing of his hatched, and carve the logs into a bow of such quality that not even the elves would find any flaw in it, all in less time then it took someone else to put on his shoes after getting out of bed in the morning. However, as he sat there and reflected upon the fruits of his labors, one thing came to his mind. He had changed, that was for certain. No longer was he the blue eyed, naive greenhorn who had just learned where to put the pointy end of his sword. He had traveled, quested, made decisions of grave import and decided the destiny of kingdoms on a gut feeling. Yet, as he looked out from his chair, out the door and through his house portal, into the world that lay before him, with its wonders and horrors, its secrets, its villains and heroes...it was the same feeling of wonder, of hope, of fear and anxiety, of joy and excitement of whats to come, the thrill of adventure that he felt back then when he first looked upon Gielinor, and made his decision to become an adventurer. Maybe...maybe he had not changed as much as he thought he had. A thought that gave him a bit of comfort, that deep within him, despite everything he was still the same man as before, only wiser, and with a giant treasurehoard to his name. Closing his eyes he reclined in his seat. Adventure will come eventually, he thought. More monsters to slay, more villains to catch and more evil schemes to foil. But for now...he believed that after all of this work, he had earned himself a rest. Maybe for a day, maybe for a month, a year, a decade, he did not know. But he was certain that the call of adventure would sound once more some day. And, that he knew in his heart, that he would once again follow." I wish you all the best UIM Loki. Grant, thank you so much for this series. You've been my comfort channel for a long time now, and we'll support you with whatever comes next. Watching that ending summary of the past few years was eye opening, and I personally love to see content creators talk about their life outside their content. In the past 4 years I went through a breakup, moved 7 hours away to a coastal state to try something new for myself, got a dog and a new girlfriend who treats me better than I deserve.
