Ultimately the little monk, Xu Zhu, is correct in saying the foreign monk's kung fu is not truly Shao Lin style. It outwardly appears that way due to the physical techniques he uses but later we find out that at Shao Lin temple, each Shao Lin kung fu technique is only allowed to be learnt by a monk AFTER they first learn a dharma technique of meditation. This is because each technique of Shao Lin kung fu is so destructive, it not only exerts great force outside but can also damage the body within and these dharmas specifically allow the user properly deflect that self-damage. The foreign monk was in such a hurry to learn all of the techniques, he never bothered with these dharmas. On his journeys, Xu Zhu inherited the powers and knowledge of the Carefree Sect's kung fu, including castles and the women warriors, and he already saw how his women warriors couldn't handle the advanced teachings of the Carefree Sect. And that as the master, only he could. So he felt that the foreign monk having skipped the dharmas, which is half the Shao Lin way of learning Shao Lin kung fu, was missing this. Later it's revealed by the real final boss, the old sweeping monk, that all the "great warriors" who cheated their way into "speed learning" all of the stolen Shao Lin monastary's techniques, were all going to physically implode unless they changed their ways.

Bro, there is no such thing as Shaolin Style, just like there no such thing as Wudang style; there are merely multiple styles of Gungfu taught at Shaolin and Wudang. These two institutions may add a little flavor to the accumulated styles, but that’s it.

I saw a clip like this and watched every single episode so I am going to save you a lot of time. There are 3 main characters, the humble beggar sect leader, the humble monk, and the humble son of a king. The beggar sect leader is from an enemy nation but grew up here his father and another characters fathers are enemies so they are killed by an ultra powerful monk who was sweeping and then given life again, only to devote themselves to the temple for the rest of their life, resolving his story., the monk accidentally masters a powerful ultra secret martial arts falling from grace and becoming the king of a secret kingdom. The son finds a secret martial art in a cave. The son falls in love with a girl, who turns out to be his sister, who turns out not to be his sister at the end and by the time this is revealed has already fallen for another girl- he has a bunch of wives like his father. Everyone lives happy the end. :)

He was really a novice Shaolin monk. And a not so bright one at that. Through sheer luck, he met the women's sect's founder. He practically transferred his century's worth of internal energy and martial knowledge to the young monk before passing away.

Those 10000 moves don't look spectacular that you have practised one time enhanced by CGI . That one movie looks mesmerizing that you have practised 10000 times in Peking Opera. Sadly the era of Jackie Chan , Sumo Hung and Gordon Liu is over .
