for 1"=3' you used the ruler scale of 1"=30' why your multiplier was 1? shouldn't it be 0.1?

In her case, she is counting the large numbers increments on the scale. So the scale given is divided by the side of the engineering scale used, so 3/30 = .1. But this is then multipled by 10 because of the increments which equals a multipier of 1. In the case of 1" = 500'. The multiplier is the scale given (500) divided by the side used(50), so 500/50 = 10, but then 10 x 10 increments = 100 for the multiplier.
