This may be odd for many here viewing/commenting but my personal introduction to this was watching Snake Plissken land his glider in Escape From New York. Filmmaker John Carpenter wrote his own musical score for his movie and partially covered a section of this beautiful piece.

I would have to agree with the previous comment, Debussy like to open his mind with the use of opioids. I mean he was an exceptional composer but I think the use of substances encouraged him to push the envelope with the way music was written

I agree, Tomita's electronic realisation of this piece is truly wonderful; it is to be found on the L.P. ( sorry, c.d. ) Snowflakes are Dancing. The title of the c.d. is itself a Debussy composition and is, of course, included on the track list along with other wonders such as The Girl with the Flaxen Hair; Clair de Lune; Gardens in the Rain; and Footsteps in the Snow. They are all fantastically evocative and once heard are likely to haunt your memory forever.
