On date formatting, "DDMmmYYYY" is the best format, if letters are supported; otherwise "YYYY-MM-DD" works really well

I think "DD/MM/YYYY" would more sense than any other option if there wasn't the confusing competition. The year is the least relevant part of the date for most applications, and the day the most. Sorting by size makes it feel more consistent, but I still feel smallest first is more practical. I do agree that ideally you write out the month in the same order to clear up confusion. You could chop off the year for things like appointments, and at that point it's more subjective, but (speaking as an American that's used MM/DD my whole life), I personally like the other way better.
