The thing about the "character change" for Zavala is, he's been having this internal conflict for the last three years. If you look back at it, he's gone through a major change and this was the breaking point for him. There is only so much a man can go through before he finally snaps. He was fed up with losing more people he cared about, conflicted on becoming close to his friends killer then coming to terms with his past. Mans has been through it. So this was actually more of a pinnacle to his arc than anything.

As I see it, the reason for the way Zavala is portrayed is because his character arc is particularly about how his fluctuating motives are directly challenged by the Witness. For as long as we’ve known him, he is a strong, stoic, unwavering man who dedicates his entire life, his worth, on the duties he both imposed on himself and the duties he swore himself to as the vanguard commander. In The Final Shape, he’s somewhat lost. Seeing that over a year ago we saw the traveler straight up attempting to abandon us, and how it did little to help the people of earth defend themselves from the dark fleet when it arrived in Lightfall. When the Witness points this out to him through whispers, and memories of his past, he contemplates the viability of what it may be saying to be true. The traveler was silent when his wife and son were killed. The traveler was still when the enemies of sol closed in. The traveler left them when he believed they needed it the most, and willingly blessed the dark hive with ghosts of their own. Under the Witness, there would be no failure. Zavala seems off as a character because I believe it makes a sort of sense. He isn’t himself, the stoic, faithful commander we all know, a fact that’s directly called out by both Cayde and Ikora, he’s scared. He believes there really might be salvation in whatever darkness the Witness offers, and it’s only when he sees his ghost Targe sacrifice himself that he starts coming back to his senses. For context I write fiction as a hobby and do some research in story mumbo jumbo, so my explanation is coming more from a place of personal observation and not an industry leveled perspective. Hopefully it helps, if at all.

I got kicked out about halfway through the campaign and woke up early when servers were quiet to finish the other half. The final boss on Legendary solo was no joke, one of the most frustrating yet fun fights I’ve had in the games history.

I got in after 3~ish hours of server unavailability, and had multiple Currant error codes taking me out of missions and just not being able to load into anywhere, social spaces included. Campaign and new gear definitely worth it though

So for all the error messages that occored, bungie can do all the maintenance in the world... They can do smoke testing to ensure the servers will work... But unfortunately, there is no way to do a load test until the servers are live...

It seemed like everything I did error coded me. Every time the game decided it was time for a cutscene, error code. So I never saw any of the cutscenes and had to redo a boss fight 4 times.

Zavala was not out of character, he has been going down this road slowly over the course of several seasons, culminating in the death of Amanda Holliday. Keith David perfectly portrayed Zavala between his usual stoicism and his increasing disillusionment with the Traveler.

My honest opinion is that after playing the rest of the campaign the next day ( i played the first 3 missions 3 hours after the launch) i forget the hole delay and server issues. I really like the dlc so far. I really have the feeling that i dont care about the issues at first. After they fixed the issues, the experience is pure gold.

Maybe it shows how you've grown as a player that the legend campaign felt easy, but this campaign felt more difficult than Witch Queen to me. I only struggled on the final boss of Witch Queen's campaign, but I found several roadblocks that took time to get through in Final Shape. Overall, really good campaign

I didn’t even get to watch the first 3 cutscenes because I got error coded out of them. This game desperately needs a cutscene replay feature. Not only as a fail safe for server or connection based issue, but so new players can learn about the story without needing to go outside of the game.

It won’t go down as the worst server fumble. Vow of the disciple raid race had the worst issue. It was a competitive scene that literally made people rerun multiple encounters multiple times. It ruined the raid race and will always have an asterisk next to the first place because we will never know who could have won without the issues. May have been a random team

the problem with the servers is that there is no good solution, like it will always happen, is that or a 4 hour long queue. Adding new servers is more complicated due to bungie using a special of servers that is not p2p nor the other (i dont remember the name of the other most used)

I had the same reaction by the end that the campaign was "easier than I expected". But I think I know why...Prismatic. It is...dumb strong.Even the base kit, on Warlock I had at least 3 Bleak Watchers at any time, Coldsnaps with Osmiomancy for panic freezes, Dive heal, the Snap to Ignite melee and DEVOUR. That, coupled with DBreath, and weirdly the new Void Omolon 2 burst HC and the Strand Rocket Sidearm CARRIED me through the campaign. I genuinely felt POWERFUL. Also, I took Chris Proctor's advice and tried Truth...NGL it chunks now and with 3 in the mag, the extra rockets...and tracking + proxy detonation, Truth is actually decent now? I can't wait to try Prismatic on the other two classes, although it's a bummer that I have to do the campaign again on both of them. Despite it being good, it's also a time slog once the mistery is revealed.

I hate the fact that Bungie thinks being caught with their pants down is a good thing. They had a lot of time to make servers stable by adding a couple for day 1 and 2 of release. I for one don’t appreciate my only day off was spent trying to get in and play for 8 hours. By the time I was done for the night, I got through 3/4 of one mission.

Every friend that I have who works in the industry and or specializes in server maintenance agrees that this could have easily been avoided. All Bungie had to do is spend the money... Update and buy more servers, front the cash for an in depth and extensive stress test and most importantly... Hire the best of the best and build an all star team for server maintenance. Bungie just didn't wanna spend the cash, plain and simple.

Should the servers have performed better? Of course! This is why if the game comes out at 10AM on Tuesday, I'm not logging in until Wednesday afternoon. I know some people do it differently but if you have clear expectations you won't be that upset. Great story 💙

Was definitely a very disappointing experience for me. This was the first campaign that I've ever been able to play as soon as it came out and I was incredibly excited. Especially after playing the disaster that was Lightfall. All of that just for the servers to lock me out of the game for 10 hours past what Bungie said. When I finally got in I was kicked out of the game 22 times (yes I counted) before it would finally let me complete the first mission. Needless to say, a very underwhelming experience. But I can't lie, the campaign has been very fun and entertaining so far. All ya need to do is get past the first main boss (the servers).

I don't feel these camping is easier than Witch queen but rather we are far stronger, there's a ton of mechanics on the campaign and running it solo was an experience for sure on witch queen I just had to make sure I survive and smash the ghost all other enemies will de spawn, here I gotta evade kill the plethora of enemies that can de buff me, get the simbolls, extend my protection and the new enemies don't play around but Prismatic even no fully unlock is a strong too. So does feel easier.

We havent seen like any emotion from these characters ever in Destiny, or really from any of the characters in Destiny honestly, so seeing them like this now was good but understanbly a little unexpected and jarring. FS cutscenes and dialogue overall has been much better than many previous expansions. They sound like real people and not Marvel characters
