You should try periastron stars RPG, it’s a modern version of traditional rpgs. Super fun, I highly reccomend playing, it’s one of my favorite Roblox RPGs or just games in general of all time

I haven't seen anybody mention this game outside of its playerbase, so I'll just bring up 'Reign RPG' on here. Its a 2009 game that is still being actively developed to this day, its almost like a roblox runescape except with procedurally generated open-world. You can increase profession and combat skills (Maces, Cooking, Smithing, Dagger etc) to eventually level up your player, and also get better at those things like crafting higher level items. There's a bunch of different biomes in the world that is uniquely generated for each new server, and the biomes have points of interest that range from normal bandit camps to endgame raids like the Dreadspire. You venture into these points of interest and clear the enemies which drop loot, with each location also having their own lootable containers. Even now the community is still discovering the existence of more content in the form of legendary drops that nobody has ever gotten before, since only specific enemies or areas drop them alongside absurd droprates. I've never really seen a game quite like this on roblox, so I'd definitely recommend it for any RPG fans who feel they may enjoy a Runescape or World of Warcraft-esque game with a kind and helpful community.

You definitely did miss a few huge RPG's especially from the earlier years. However, there are just far to many to cover in one video so it's totally understandable. However overall I think this video was very well made! It gave a good history of the Roblox RPG genre and how it has all evolved over the years. Definitely a nostalgia trip for sure! I hope you continue to make content like this and maybe even possibly having a small series where you go back and play a few older Roblox games here and there.

I started RPGs when legacy classic was still called Legacy RPG II, that was my first entry into RPGs on roblox but then I quickly moved into the tales of ranges cape and the lord of ranges cape. I was very into it and helped contribute to some aspects that I became a moderator for The lords of Nomrial. I'm still very deeply rooted into the RPG genre as someone who has played them almost all my life on-and-off roblox and I appreciated this video mentioning the many RPGs. One dev I wanted to shout out that wasn't mentioned here is gl0in2 who made Dungeon Delvers which was very popular early on and was an early predecessor of the dungeon crawl before guest quest.

Glad that you have found it again. I havent found another working version on Roblox but you could get it working on Novetus running the late 2011 build of Roblox I havent tried that though so keep that in mind. Novetus works by having a file of the game which can be found in places like Rchive. If there is a saved file of the game

i remember tale of the gems, and i think there was a sequel at some point too, and i honestly still consider it one of the most advanced rpg games for the time since it had not only the stats stuff, but also had the ability to craft gems to boost your stats if i recall, along with a bunch of different weapons, being in magic, melee, or ranged, i cant entirely remember everything but i do know it was really good.

i think another RPG worth mentioning was the lord of ranges cape, which yourius made as a sequel to tales of ranges cape around 2010-11. it's called nomrial legends these days and is quite up to date with modern roblox. an old build of lords of ranges cape is still available although extremely broken. this was the first game i ever played on roblox back in 2011 and had a good time with it

I miss some of the older rpgs like Forsaken sword legacies legendary swords rpg, lost time kingdom, lords of nomrial, bloxlore and one that was similar to it with a spogebob portal, challenge rpg 2 and tlc2, and there's also fight the monsters and many others i'm forgetting. It makes me feel abit sad remembering friends i don't talk to anymore when i remember all this, also since you're including one piece ig i can include arcane adventures and project jojo it's abit annoying that u can lose your data in those games tho especially bone sword rpg and infinity rpg, i remember there wasn't any worlds in inf rpg and i kept abusing the scrub sword secret in bone sword rpg and last boss was 50k one

Shadovis is probably one of the best rpg's because it uses the old format without having every enemy simply punch you which gets REALLY repetitive while not being super duper flashy with the most unbalanced pvp ever (Not that anybody plays that mode)

There’s a genre you didn’t mention for modern rpg’s, they have the same aspect of the old rpg games (surreality, universal rpg, knightlordian rpg, etc.) And then there’s ones that are just high quality but made with the same droplet rpg kits, pretty accurate now though nonetheless

I don't know if anyone remembers this game but if you do PLEASE help me find it: I don't remember it all too well because the last time I played it was years ago, but I remember it was this RPG/Adventure style game where you picked a character class (this part I remember best - your character could choose to wear a top hat and you'd fight with cards as your weapon, although I'm pretty sure you could also choose a sword) and you traveled through levels/worlds(?) to reach the end. I remember there being big boss battles, primarily one with a spider queen, and then one much later in the game where you fought this giant in gold armor who was nuclear/toxic. I don't know if it was ever that popular but it was my favorite game and I just can't find it for some reason. I'd really love to play it again so if anyone knows what I'm talking about please let me know.

Can you please help me find this game, it was an rpg where u progressed through levels and the final one was heaven, before every area there was a hub or a lobby that had the theme of the area its in, you'd progress through multiple mobs then at the end you face a boss and then progress to the higher area, you could also teleport to all the hubs

No Pwned Incrypt?? I swear it was revolutionary for me. It was solo / co op that cycled through a set of story linked maps of harder and harder wave based enemy and bosses. The player classes and bosses had evolutions/stages with cool abilities and I hadnt seen anything like it for around 2011ish. Very unique style with character to it. Theyre working on a 3rd but it seems to not have hit off, unfortunate because the 2nd one sort of flopped.

You forgot one RPG game which was like Guest Quest and it was hella popular back in 2016/2017 Gears Online, it was the "new" Guest Quest still made by BuildIntoGames but it was much better in terms of UI and content and had some fun easter eggs, and you wasnt locked to a specific camera angle.

the rebirth portals for legendary sword rpg was not in the original game. It was in the rescirpted version but they stopped updating just like the original version 😢

It's pretty crazy how much more advanced the games on Roblox are nowadays. I hear new terms like "bandit beater" used negatively and get confused because to me, that style of RPG is what I grew up loving lmao My favourite was always Lords of Ranges Cape, which came out in 2012 or so. Was basically a modern sequel to Tales of Ranges Cape, and I adored it. It got a huge overhaul and was renamed to Nomrial Legends at some point.
