I love these videos, but each time I see a recap, I never see a mention that human life expectancy was up to 350 years after the Traveler arrived, thus creating the Golden Age. I remember when this was a big deal, as those life expectancies were a big reason why there was a Golden Age of technology, but also why we fight so hard for the Traveler. Was this something I dreamed from back in the day's Grimoire cards?

I had to consciously leave Destiny behind for awhile to take care of a sick parent and build a new business. I stopped playing the day I first entered the corrupted City of Dreams for the first time. I had no idea how far this game came and I was whooping and hollering and texting my old fireteams at things like rescuing Saint-14 and that he and that grouchy ass Osiris are actually lovers, the concept of Savathun using light, THE IDENTITY OF THE GODAMNED DRIFTER! And I've never seen the Witness, but holy jesus what a conceptual masterpiece. What a phenomenal game and you outdid yourself with a clear summary, showing of all the cutscenes and explanations - this must have been a humungous total of work, hats off to you friend - though I can't rejoin this world yet, I hope to at some point but you've given me more than enough to satiate myself!!!

The only issue I have is the lack of mention of Ir Halak and Ir Anûk, the twin daughters of Oryx who taught Crota how to open a hole in space which led to the Vex arrival in Oryx’s Throne World. Not to mention that they also created the Deathsong, Oversouls, and the Annihilator Totems. Despite only being in The Taken King raid, they are pivotal to the story of the Hive. Also Oryx not saying the infamous line of “Return victorious or die forgotten” to Crota before throwing him into the hole that the Vex were coming through on Oryx’s Throne World is just a crime upon itself. I love the video though, its absolutely amazing

I love that the Traveler is actually a basketball reference :) From the D1 Grimore: Qiao Supplemental Project Catamaran Clubhouse Gymnasium A/V Recording Path to Ares: 30 Days to Launch Hardy: What, you don't play basketball? Qiao: Of course I do. Hardy: Okay, so me and Mihaylova against you and Evie. Evie: Oh, we'll wipe the floor with you. Mihaylova: Don't be so sure. Hardy: How's the nav coming? Qiao: All told, beautiful. With Mihay's AI and Evie's theories- Evie: We don't want to accidentally run into it. Hardy: It? Evie: Moon X. Mihaylova: Agh! Evie: Too slow. Hardy: Hey! No traveling. Evie: Sorry- Qiao: Got it. Hardy: Not so fast- Qiao: Two points. You want to talk about fast. Evie: Wait. Wait. Hardy: Huh. Okay. What? Evie: Traveling. Moon X. Look, we need to stop even thinking of it as a satellite or a false moon. It's big, but it acts alive- this thing moves with purpose. It's a visitor. It's… a Traveler.

Watching this like I'm doing an LOTR movies marathon ! Since I'm a late Destiny player (only started playing at Lightfall's release) I've got a lot of hunger for lore and everything that happened up until now. I'm grateful for content creators like you who helps me better understand this universe and what made it what it is. Something that really strikes me is that when Cayde-6 was lost, the entire "fun" of Destiny really went away with him. I really hope Cayde's return will bring that fun and goofy atmosphere back, and as a hunter main I can't help but feel a connection with this character. I got to know him better, mainly because of your work so thanks again Evaze and keep doing what you're doing !!
@marcusfenix48466 ай бұрын
this is kind of the bare minimum. you don't get a lot of "lore" here. You mainly get the experience of the main campaigns and season quests. There is a LOT of lore out there that gives insight into different beings, forces, concepts and events that really help contextualize how grand or powerful or meaningful some events or characters are.
@BrumeNoire6 ай бұрын
@@marcusfenix4846 I'm aware, it's the main reason I watch a lot of lore videos as well as gathering lore in-game. But for someone who didn't get to play Destiny and only started Destiny 2 after Season of the Seraph, it's important to get acquainted with previous campaigns and quests to understand the storyline. I disagree though, previous campaigns and season quests are part of the lore. They are the chain of events that defines what Destiny 2 is currently and what it will be so it's just as important as the rest.

gotta be honest, raids are SO much more interesting when you're going in after a fallen fireteam who's sacrifice wasn't in vain and contributes to your success. Vault of Glass and Crota's End having those details wrap back around into the weapon and armor lore makes it all feel cohesive, and following up with a raid like King's Fall where you are directly responsible for the conflict is the icing on the cake

They are most likely the physical manifestation of a universal law. Light can't exist without darkness. Up can't exist without down. A Solid can't exist without a non Solid space. It's the balance of the universe. Like how earth will always heal itself and bring itself back to balance, even after getting hit by a giant meteor. Balance must exist for anything to exist. You need opposite things for each other to exist. A light bulb is intended to light up the area, but it's unintentional side effect is that it heats up the area. How do you know what light is without darkness to compare it to? They need each other to know they both exist. The light and dark are tied to each other. One can't be killed without the other being killed also. When a god creates light, they also create darkness. And when a god creates darkness they also create light. It's a battle nobody can win unless both sides cease to exist at the same exact time. Otherwise, if light still exists then darkness does too.
