Fun fact: if you don’t do Wintertusk (a side world) you technically never free Raven from her imprisonment and you also fail to prevent the coven from bringing about the Everwinter. It’s a major plot hole.

My canon has always been that had we not taken down the initial raven coven, they wouldn’t have left grizzleheim true and continued politically controlling it thus the everwinter wouldn’t happen. I guess that means raven was free but she is captured because of us then… hmm… maybe she is right to hate us? Anywho it is a plot hole yeah.

Here, i can summarize Novus: Dasien became something, but since he was a sentient nothing, and now a sentient something, he gets to decide what he is. After going to Lemuria and learning “Helping others is the highest of purposes”, he decides to use his “Something” to become resources to help the people of the spiral. Unfortunately, the Spiral powers (Marleybone, Valencia, Monquista, and Polaris) all see Novus and Dasien as a prize to be exploited. They all decide to use his matter creation to create whatever resources they want for profit. But, merchants and capitalists from Valencia figure out that an Infinite resource generator will cause all value of resources to become 0, causing them to no longer have any capitalist power. So they force Dasein to stop making resources. This upsets all the other Spiral Powers, who break into wars with one another over Novus. Meanwhile, the Cabal has seeped its way into Novus, believing it to be an unnatural abomination upon the spiral, and a danger to everything. They create “The Dogs of War” to coax the spiral powers into further distrust, and stage threats to make it appear like Novus is too dangerous for anyone to be on. However, a leader of a radical faction of the Cabal named Manticore believes that he can use Dasien’s power for his own purposes. Manticore forces Dasien to create his twisted form of perfection, a monster made of all things all at once. After the Wizard destroys it, Dasien kills Manticore in anger. Insulted by the greed and war the spiral powers and Manticore have caused him, Dasien decides he doesn’t want to be a part of the everything, and decides to return to being nothing. Him being nothing inside of everything is causing the universe to have a hard time existing. On top of that, all the Spiral Powers believe that it is the Wizard’s fault they are no longer allowed to wish for whatever they want.

Lol that's a good summarization of Novus, better than how I could try to sum it up. That world is just so confusing lol, even while playing through it myself, I couldn't keep track of everything going on because there's just, Something, Nothing, Everything, etc. Also funny how it's our faults that the Spiral Powers got greedy and instead of blaming one another, they blamed us- who was doing their damn errands that whole time.

This is the one time that I hope that the villain doesn't actually die. There's nothing that really indicates if he is dead or not, Nothing just poofed him out of existence at the end there without much further explanation. If the Manticore really is dead and was not kicked out of Novus or from wherever Nothing is hanging out - I don't actually think Nothing would actively or directly kill anyone, as most of the danger came from the diplomats causing him stress - then the whole Manticore subplot didn't even need to exist in the first place. The Cabal themselves can stay, as some were acting with noble intent this time, but the Manticore himself shouldn't have even existed in the first place. That being said, I'm going to be really mad if the Manticore isn't in Wallaru.

@@seastorm1052 From what I remember from the ending of Novus, the Manticore straight up just died because Dasein had killed him out of anger, so I have the feeling he isn't gonna be back unless they figure out a way to make him still alive and not cause a plot hole in the story. It's been a couple months since I finished Novus so I'm just going off of memory and what my sister tells me since we did the world together. To be honest, seeing The Nothing (Dasein) express how angry he is/was from all the stress from the diplomats just shows that it's him making his own choices, not cuz of us. Kinda dumb how they blame us for what they did lol, Dasein was calling out to US for help cuz he was confused and didn't really understand what was happening, those diplomats just made it worse for him and not listening to us. =3=/ So much for being the saviors of the Spiral it seems, now we're a scapegoat, I hope we keep Dasein away from their greed.

@@sparksflamanic The ending of what happened to the Manticore is actually a lot more ambiguous than you might remember. If you read back the dialogue, there is: Dasien: NO! I've seen enough of your dreams, enough of your horrors. I've seen enough of you! "*cavity noises*" -at the moment where the Manticore disappears. There is no mention that he perished in any way after that from any other character or even from Dasien himself. Maxine Rockhoppierre does ask where "the moose" is but she never gets an answer nor asks again after that. (I also streamed the end of Novus on this channel, if you'd like to go and confirm) While I wouldn't put it past KI to have actually killed the Manticore in that moment, oh man will I be angry if he isn't in Wallaru as the Manticore was a really weak villain if he is, in fact, now dead. They'd have saved themselves a lot more headache if the Manticore was meant to be a redundant villain and simply never add him to Novus in the first place. Although I *do* agree with the diplomats being a few brain cells short. Even with the most basic problems they encounter with one another, they're right back to declaring war. Makes me wonder what was going on in the writer's room when Novus was being planned, as the world was not well structured and the ending is so contrived. The wizard didn't really do much of anything. And if I see those diplomats one more time I want to be able to sue them for slander. We're heroes and they're dumb.

This is why whenever I come back to Wiz I only replay the first arc Malistaire storyline lol. Simple, fun, and nostalgic as heck. Definitely the best written storyline and most enjoyable worlds, especially Mooshu.

Arc 2 is honestly the best if we ignore og-est of the og nostalgia. The combat is better, the world's are better and the plot is almost as iconic as malistaire (also doesn't last like 12 hours if you are a veteran to the game)

Here’s the story of the community in Wizard 101: Once upon a time in the late 2000s a Wizard game only on PC was seen a few times on TV highlighting a fight between a few wizards and Malistaire. People flocked to the game just to see what it was like, and 7-10 year olds everywhere were blown away by how fun it was. Hundreds of thousands of players joined in only a year, The Commons was packed to the rim with players showing off their mounts and talking about stuff from real life, sometimes the commons was so packed people would seek peace and quiet in Ravenwood, the shopping district, and Olde Town which made all 4 of these areas highly populated. It was clear that this community was massive and active. It wouldn’t be long before 50 million players would be a part of the wizard 101 community, and Kingsisle even made a limited time trophy housing item as memorabilia for this incredible time in Wizard101s history. But it soon would falter… micro transaction, other games being released such as Black Ops and Modern Warfare made the community drift away bit by bit, and eventually Wizard101 became only a memory for those that actually remembered. Today you can join a populated server and see just a glimpse of what Wizard101 used to be. The Commons half full, the shopping district fairly populated, and a few players in Ravenwood and Olde Town. But what hurts the most for veteran players is knowing we will never see Wizard101 in its former glory again.

While not recommended since you can’t get level 58 spells and other school spells without doing wintertusk, you can completely skip wintertusk, which won’t make the events of Arc 3 make any sense since Raven is still trapped in Wintertusk. Basically the same point as the top comment but this plot hole is so funny. It implies grandmother Raven got tired of waiting for the wizard and jailbreaked out of Wintertusk on her own just to throw hands with spider.

even though i like the mishmash worlds, I can see why they may not be very popular with other players. i think lemuria being a mishmash works very with the story since the old one was trying to create a "perfect" world or whatever, I kinda forgot, but they sorta pushed it with novus. thankfully, wallaru will go back to the individual theming that other worlds have.

Novus is kinda easy to summarize. But SO much happens that it's still long. A new weird formation from nothing appears near the Arcanum, resulting in the scholars to task you to explore the unknown world. Wizard discovers that the Unknown world is related to Dasein and that the world is splintering into portals to other worlds. Those portals allow the other worlds to explore this new, unclaimed and full of resources, land. At first, the land is a dream come true to all the Worlds of Power, fulfilling their every need. Land, Art, Food, Inspiration, Power. However, some splinter group of Marlyboneians caused infighting to start, breaking the Peace. Causing a Domino effect of Greed and Pride to want more from the World. The Worlds of Power fight each other over the resources and territory, causing a negative reaction from the very world itself, spawning monsters. Calling for a ceasefire, the Leaders of the Powers task the Wizard to understand the world at its core on Why it would react over Fighting. Wizard really gets to know the Leaders before and after this point, Learning they all have very selfish reasons to wanting their areas. The Lead of Polaris especially, mistreating her assistant at every turn. While investigating, the world, Dasein, seems to speak out to the wizard, giving hit hints and clues onto finding them. Which leads the Wizard to find a Frame of Mind that helps Dasein gain control of their new power over the world It was discovered that the Splinter group was actually the Cabal, trying to get the Powers to Leave the world for their safety. While also Discovering that the Cabal ALSO has a splinter group trying to control the world all for themselves to have everyone leave as well. And they are not opposed to the Wizard finding the frames. Once the Wizard gathered all the frames, Dasein can fully control his world powers and hear every wish the Leaders and their citizens wants. BUT their wants Conflict with others' wants. Dasein learns about World Economics But the more Dasein Gives, the more the Worlds fight, and fight, and Fight, pushing him to get so stressed that the world begins to spawn powerful stress monsters like before. Despite loyalties, there are a select group of followers who know the fighting is bad, and seek to help the wizard keep everyone safe from their own War. The wizard goes around cleaning every mess they can, but one mess is another Leaders' need, causing the Leaders to distrust the Wizard. Causing the Wizard to have no choice but to Fight the Leaders as well. After beating every last Leader in combat, the wizard discovers that the Assistant to the Polaris leader was talking to Dasein, meeting him in the Frame of Mind to Discover that they are the Leader of the Splinter Cabal Group, The Manticore. He seeks to make the worlds Whole, like before. But his mind is twisted and dark, showing what "Whole" Creatures are in his mind. A sickening abomination. After beating that horrid monster, Dasein Rejects the Manticore and his madness, slipping him into a Cavity like the Old One. Dasein, tired from all the fighting and confusion, decides he does not want to be part of the Everything, he wants to become Nothing again. He Rejects the Everything, an Ominous declaration. Forced back to the main hub of the world, Shaken from all this, The remaining leaders blame the Wizard for Dasein rejecting everyone and for stopping their progress from getting what they wanted in their respective worlds. Before anymore blame is passed, the Arcanum reaches the Wizard to come back and report in. Taking this as Running away, the Leaders declare that the Wizard is now their prime enemy, and they can't run from their wrath in anywhere in the spiral. Back in the Arcanum, Zander understands what is going on and what Dasein has chosen to do. Giving the Wizard a plan to help Dasein, pointing them to the world of Wallaru.

This game was my life from like the ages of 10-12, then my mother kicked me out, I gave away the account to a random friend on my friend list and the next thing I know when I try logging onto it- banned. I recently had bought a month of the wizard 101+ but I could only grind the game out for half that time. It just seemed like so much to re-do, but it was a really fun trip down memory lane. The game felt newer, I don’t think the sewer battle with the Beatles was there before as a dungeon.

Novus is basically a bunch of politics and jockeying for power in the world that Dasien thought he could merge into the old spiral to make it an improved spiral. You would think he would try to save just Lemuria with his new found abilities, but the planet man was being used and abused and he absolutely hated every second the will of the masses were being imposed on him 😂. We also see the cabal desperately try and also fail all so terribly at controlling this new world.

They really dropped the ball with Novus. I *can* explain it, but I have to compartmentalize everything in order for it to make sense. Trying to talk through the quests chronologically just goes to show how confusing the world actually is. And even when sorted into the three main subjects of the world - Cabal, Diplomats, and Nothing - it's *still* not a clean explanation as it feels like everyone who went to Novus lost a few brain cells in transit.
