From the beginning I expected that the game would end something like this. The shot of all the past destroyed earths gave me chills. I love a good time loop, it’s always a cool but tragic way to end a story.

So what was the irreversible cataclysmic event that kept repeating itself? I read on a terminal the world leaders called it an inevitable deeper issue. The earth seems to explode from the inside. Anyone have any ideas?

My theory is that it is the entropy energy itself. The ending definition of Entropy suggests it gradually veers towards disorder and chaos and the notes + presentation hint that as the "entropy years" (years the Entropy Centre been active outside of earth's own time) pass the number of cataclysmic events kept increasing almost exponentially. That by the constant rewinding: chaos kept increasing resulting in a positive feedback until finally inciting the irreversible cataclysm of the earth just tearing itself apart. Even the museum slightly hinted at such talking about disasters that we may have to deal with like extinction of pandas and tigers have already happened in the past in the Game's timeline. It would make it a classic example of humanity's hubris and (ab)use of power it shouldn't have leading to its own downfall.

@@Foxhood You are most likely correct, entropy itself seems to be the final cataclysm that the Entropy Center could not prevent. This is hinted (or revealed) with the whiteboard explaining the word entropy. In theoretical science, everything that happens increases entropy, this works until the the "heat death" of the universe, where all energy is evenly distributed and any process that increases entropy cannot exist anymore.

Just curious, but what do you dislike about the ending? I mean, I know it can be a little dissatisfied that you're just in an endless loop, but beyond that a time loop like this does fit as an existential dread themed thing

@@robobuilder1335 While the existential dread theme is alright. It does feel like all that you did, a ENTIRE 6 hours of puzzle mind you, was for nothing. Also sadly, this theme of being stuck in a loop has been done so often it just gets tiring. Its like no one can think of other things a time theme can do so it was more or less expected, from me at least. One other being Deathloop, but there is choice with that game

Honestly the way the game was going with hinting that the actions of the entropy centre itself are what caused chaos and resulted in the increasing number of cataclysmic disasters: I was expecting an ending more along the line of undoing the Entropy Centre itself. That the only way to give the earth a chance is without the Entropy Centre and its ability to magically rewind mistakes. Giving a message that no, we don't get do-overs...

@@Foxhood Honestly, that would have made a perfect ending. The entropy center itself is cause of the cataclysmic event and therefore it would had made the most sense to rewind itself into non-existance.

@@robobuilder1335 i honestly expected a twist...like, the infinite loop thing is kinda obvious, so i was wondering "how will we break it?"...and there was no twist. like... maybe not break, but do something differently or show that Arya has been doing SOMETHING to accumulate each cycle so THEN she will be able to do something one day in some of the cycles. but we, as a player, are just playing one of these cycles...which kinda sucks. Also, it doesn't explain why Arya lost her memories. Memories of a cycle - sure, but why can't she remember any of the coworkers and so on? All that happened before the cycle started
