Hey, Zak, I got this beast in the first batch from Newtype. The most shocking part is that it is bigger and cheaper than the MG Sinanjus. Bandai really needs to up their 1/100 game so they don’t lose the market to these other companies.

Hemoxian is NOT a third party. Thor Reytheon is their original design and wasn't taken from any anime or franchise. So technically, that's a legit, original kit. Daban, MJH, Dragon Momoko, TThongli and such are the third party because copy everything from Bandai..

In terms of engineering articulations are really impressive, I don't know about the easy pop off parts but it's a good kit and I think they slap bandai on the face on this.

Hey why call it a third party kit when, essentially, it’s a wholly original model by a brand in china? I just figured since chinese model kits have really grown in prominence in recent years, with a lot of lines being original, it wouldn’t really be so fair to call them “third-party” like they’re a knock-off brand or smth from the days of yonder

If they really designed from the ground up. Lots of "original design" are stealing bandai MG's inner frame and just redesign their appearance, then claim their "original IP". Bandai could not do anything because while gundam's design is protected, the inner frame is not

With modern day, third-party, mecha-musume companiese (like atk-girls), they’re basically using a very similar body-type or “inner-frame” with the kotobukiya’s line except with different armor setups and hairstyles. So has this become something more original merely because it’s organic plastic pieces in regard to rigid and straight plastic pieces for the inner frame? Like yea, it’s basically the same design as another brand’s but it’s not copyrighted or patented so…. Where’s the line?

At this point it's not even fair to call them third party anymore. Original design, impressive scale and quality the Chinese companies have come a long way in short amount of time. If they can keep this up at current pricing there will be serious competition.

One thing I really wish Bandai to do in future is to add mechanical melee weapons. Right now, IBO is the only line where gunpla comes with heavy metal melee weapons. I mean look at the hammer from this kit. I understand Gundam are more like gun holding giant robot. But sometimes I think we would like more than just light saber for melee weapons. Or modified light saber like Sazabi's.

It looks like one of the megaman series design proportions. Not really a fan of the design, but it seems to be an excellent kit, and build based on the review. Undergates also a plus. Glad for those that ordered this, as it is a menacing 3rd party design.

I wouldn't say a fraction of the price, this Thor kit specifically is getting up there in price, almost 60 USD here in SEA, which is about the price of an MG kit. The amount of stuff you do get is really nice still compared to Bandai, but they aren't cheap anymore.

Don’t worry about the limbs supporting their own weight, they’re pretty good at keeping their pose, but the arms will struggle when holding the hammer. Makes sense given that the hammer is such a big chunk of plastic that has no real counterweight.

I hate when third party companies do the gift with first print thing. The main thing selling this kit was the cloak for me because it looked badass. Eternal star glory also have done this as that kit past the first run has no gold plated parts or effect parts.

These kits show you how much Bandai can do with current model manufacturing tech. They're absolutely holding back to focus on profit. They absolutely could update or release many of the kits the community wants. Here's hoping that we'll see more higher quality kits from all companies for lower prices instead of the huge cost of MGEX/PG.

This design just does not rub me the right way. It feels not enough like a robot and too much like some kind of super hero suit or like a transformer. I think the wonky proportions and lightning aesthetic also make it look like more or a kids toy than a high end model
