1:14 ここで描かれている橋はおそらく錦帯橋。 錦帯橋のある山口県岩国市では、国によって白蛇が天然記念物に指定されており、実際に錦帯橋の近くには「岩国シロヘビの館」なるものがあり、同じ岩国市には白蛇神社も存在する。 白蛇を神の使いと崇める文化は数あれど、岩国市はとりわけ白蛇と縁が深いということで、この曲のPVの一幕として錦帯橋が描かれたと考えられる。

The snake boy fell in love with the mountain girl, but the snake people were considered dirt by the "pure" and "holy" mountain people. I haven't listened to the Masinowa CD, but it (at least this song) seems to have more Japanese influence than Ristaccia. I've read the story, though, and it's pretty awesome. Nothing for me personally beats the Blind Justice chapters. I love a heartwrencher. (Although it's got a happy ending)

@Ifeedonjapanesehobos Well, actually, the part with Ido is about 60 - 70 years after the event he got rejected by the konohona girl. Gijiri power is, in fact, related to Ristaccia. The image in 0:28 - 0:33 where the people were worshiping the hexagon (symbolizing the Ristaccia). It's hinted that Ristaccia was part of the creation of the kagachin blood. The part about Ido is that he [Ido] sealed away the demon lair which Gijiri created in Wenkamui.

Spoiler (from Drama CD)------------ Actually, he was trying to save Kukaru while Malchut was indirectly killing him by being his side day after day. Kukaru = Half Kagachin. Malchut = Turii. And basically, Turii =/= Kagachin. And the main reason why Gijiri was so desperate to save Kukaru is one of the biggest spoilers/irony in the story (will not say but google it up, you'll find it). ;3; But basically that's the gist of it. And pretty much, most of us knows how that turn out in the end. Q____Q

The theory floating around the internet is that she shunned him, and in return he summoned his power from Ido, the wizard sealed away in Wenkamui, to exact revenge. His power does not seem to be related to Ristaccia, but none of this has been confirmed. Although, on the character page of the artbook, it says he usurps L'erisia somehow, perhaps his powers are even greater than Ristaccia?

I find Gijiri's story to be pretty interesting, but I still have questions. When does "Gaiden" take place in the Epic ? After the showdown between the survivors and L'erisia ? I'd guess before. So...when ? And where's Ristaccia ? Is Kagachi one of its embodiments ? And what happens to Gijiri after he sets the village on fire and flees ?

Timeline-wise, Gaiden took place before Chapter 1 and after Prologue. A ristaccia piece is in Gijiri's sword, the jewel is just not visible like the other swords. The Kagachi bloodline is merely one of the many after effects of Ristaccia intervention (technically, many things/events are). After burning their home village, Gijiri and Minawa/Ido (the vid doesn't show him) create Sazaragi, Ido died at the the Wenkamui event, Gijiri took over one of the main power houses in Masinowa, and then we eventually have the Turii chapter.
