I'm reading the Ante-nicene Fathers (Coxe translation) for the first time and highlighted that whole passage you quoted from chapter 5! Oh how the Church needs to be reminded of this today. Oh how I need this reminder, myself...

Glory to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior both now and forever ☦️ Blagoslavitsye Vladyka Irenei☦️ May we all be made worthy to complete our journey towards Theosis throughout the narrow path of the Church to imitate the love and mercy of Christ our Lord and God. Forgive me the unworthy servant of God ☦️

Bishop, thank you for sharing that. In all respect, could you use a clip on microphone for the future reflections? It would help to hear it clearer.
8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. - Matthew 23 As a former Roman Catholic, I am drawn to Orthodox Christianity but I just cannot accept the need to "sit at the feet of the fathers". How do you resolve this requirement with the scripture I have posted above?

Paul is called a spiritual father of Timothy in the Bible. Watch this video which explains it well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpqmapSjh62Lercsi=2VKtY5Ewih9P2WwB
