I enjoyed the third Equalizer installment, and I'm hopeful for a fourth involving Denzel and Dakota again. I enjoyed their playful banter in this movie. The storyline was good, and the action was not overly done like some movies. I really like the vigilante justice Denzel's character serves up. Brutal!

I saw this partly for the Man On Fire reunion and was glad Dakota’s role was larger than the trailer implied. Not sure if I’m too far removed from 9, 5 years or I’m just older but I found the lingering kill shots etc. a bit more violent and gruesome than I remember in the others. However I did not rewatch the others recently. Still beautiful scenery and great DW movie. I liked other cast members too.

He's always been partially an action thriller star(especially the last 25 or so years). Man on fire, ricochet, book of Eli, virtuosity, the train movie I forget, safe house, deju vu. That's over half a dozen spanning decades. Historically in between these movies he's made stuff like the great debaters and flight. His last movie was Macbeth for Christ sake lol. I'm between equalizer 1-2 he made fences. A stage play adaptation with straight dialog and Viola Davis being as amazing as usual. That's no lazy Sunday role and the same obviously goes for Shakespeare. Comparing him to Liam is kinda disrespectful lol. Maybe one day he'll start falling off but I haven't seen the evidence yet. Especially with equalizer being his one action franchise. Let the man make his franchise money on the side.

Camorra is not 'basically italian mafia'. while the word mafia came to signify any organized crime syndicate in the world, in Italy 'Mafia' refers specifically to crime clan in Sicyly (aka Cosa Nostra), while Camorra organization is liinked to Campania/Naples region, another famous one being 'Ndranghetta (Calabria)). Obviously to the outside world the definition is blurred now between The Mafia and a mafia-like organization, but given the action of the film is in Italy I feel it's still quite significant.

took me a while to put together my own review of 3 , thats cause i had to let it digest , that being said , i have put all 3 movies in order awesomeness ... #2 was the best , #1 was second and of course 3 came in last. For me the story was shaky and loose. All i remember is him sitting at a coffee table through most of the movie which was meant to be the basis for him falling in love with this country . Cause i guess if they showed him excited about bar-b-ques with his new friends he would look really sad , having no family, so they kept it to close to ones eye. Even the villains didnt impress me, especially the bad ass boss who cried and tried to run away. It started to look like a scene from scar face when the glass fell on his head, then he gets up and well you know what happens. I was hoping the bad guys were gonna head straight for the town and f--k it up, but no, they felt they needed to sleep on his brothers death and many of his mens deaths, as if he could even sleep knowing his brother was murdered and they knew who did it, but i was wrong .. always good to get a good nights sleep before you go on a murdering spree and destroy a town and the guy who killed your brother

The food and tickets are high, the places look like they have not been cleaned since before the pandemic, and both require seating at a prescribed seat (roll and number) that being in the dark is hard to find. Saw it last night. If blue balls was a movie, this would be it. It had such a great start. Then the build-up was slow but intentional. They make you fall in love with the town, the town folk. They make you hate the baddies. Create tension between McCall and the baddies, and set up an eventual clash between the big bad guy and McCall. They set up Dakota Fanning's character as someone who might play a big role in the story. But the final act was such a letdown. The execution (pun intended) IMO was sloppy and unsatisfactory. Nothing happens with Dakota Fanning's character. It almost felt like 3/4 through the movie they ran out of budget or completely changed writers and/or directors.

I thought it was awesome, the final scene before Denzel goes to the baddies house and dispatches the baddies seemed kind of disjointed and illogical, but I get the narrative point, otherwise, I found it very consistent with the character and series. Denzel is my favorite current action star, he does look a little tired in this installment but capable and believable. What I appreciated the most was when he flipped the switch he was Jason from Halloween and still had to grapple with the moral dilemma, that's so realistic and what it takes to commit to the violence required to subdue the evil present. He was very real to me in this.

Overall, this was very good, and fair, review. As a film, it's better than the second one but not as good as the first with McCall really convincingly weighing whether or not to get involved in taking on the Russians. This third installment isn't as action packed as the other two, but it's very well acted. The Dakota Fanning/CIA element is well done, and the dialogue exchanges involved are very good. It's fine, but the point that the movie never really shifts up into high gear is also well taken. In terms of its setting, mood and approach, this movie is very much like The American with George Clooney.

The action that was in the movie at the very beginning makes you crave more of the same and plenty of it. Just wasn't there. Very disappointing. I would not watch it again. I give the movie 1 star....a flop. I'm still a die hard Denzel fan but the only way that this movie grossed $42 million dollars so far is because people thought that this movie was going to be action packed and paid for a ticket to see it for the first time. I really don't think that anyone would pay to see it again.

I enjoyed this movie. Two issues I had. 1. Denzel was indestructible. He was shot by the kid. I equate that to getting hit by a random bullet on the 4th of July. Outside of that, he wasn’t hurt a single time. Not a single fight scene hurt him. He didn’t get hit a single time. Even John wick takes a beating. 2: Dakota fanning. Her lines weren’t very believable. This ain’t my first rodeo. You don’t want to test me. Please. You’re a desk jockey. Writers should a done better with her lines.

I disagree on the pacing/tempo of the movie. I didn't feel like it was in 3rd gear the entire time. Started out in high gear, then it very clearly eased back significantly when he was recovering. Letting the new conflict slowly simmer up until the dinner scene, THEN very clearly you know okay NOW it's going to kick back up. Thought the pacing was clear, and enjoyable. As far as the climax, yes in terms of just by the book action formula, it wasn't BIG enough like John wick or M.I., but I'm glad it wasn't because for one, that isn't the equalizer, and two, he's older. So it works. Wish there was more cia police work to give more crime thriller edge during the middle hour build up.
