@pallas91133 жыл бұрын
It takes some gall to call the abducted victim of their experiments a _monster..._ The portrayal of the caretaker and the nurse is kinda interesting. They sound human enough when communicating with each other (and the Doctor), but completely _off_ when interacting with the... _subjects._ Result of dehumanization I guess?
@JojonathanOliveira3 жыл бұрын
I guess so, but I don't think it is the only reason. The caretaker may have been rough on the patients by influence of the nurse, the first interaction with him he blame the MC of spying on him which suggest he is highly paranoid with the patients. His manerism and out of place worries (he was overly worried about dancing but when the nurse point out their guns were not working on the monster he didn't show signs of worry) suggest he is simple minded. We see he also care to some extend about the patiences as later he blame the MC for the massacre James caused. The nurse was a sadistic manipulative monster. When MC enter her room they find she enjoy hunting people and does so in fairly regular basis, probably she was the one who knock out the patients and took their limbs. She also has been using the caretaker love for her to get a chance of hunting people to kill for her own pleasure without anyone knowing. The letters also show hse despise the caretaker and the dialog she had with him earlier she propose they turn on the doctor, showing she would ditch anyone to save her own skin

I won't lie, I had been hoping the old woman would somehow survive this madness. All of the patients are just tragic, I am quite happy all of the people responsible for this get a painful death regardless of what ending you get. Our protagonist's monstrous hands weren't what I was hoping would happen, but it wasn't surprising. Made for a cool segment too, even if the better ending results in their loss. It looks like she ends up in a mental hospital, I wonder if those planned story DLCs might net her a better fate. Either way, I'm looking forward to them. It'll be nice to get more of this story.

The names are very interesting. Icaros was the son of Daidalos, they built the labyrinth in which Minotaur was held. He is most known for flying too close to the sun when they tried to escape from a tower where the king locked them after they finished his labyrinth. Typhon should be the father of all monsters, with Echidna being the mother of all monsters. Mary is possibly used as a place in for virgin Mary, considering the guy's name is James, which I think is the English equivalent of Jozef? I think that James is Jozef at least. You see, the doctor's first problem is that his surname is West. And his first name Victor. You know, like Victor Frankenstein, the guy who thought that making a 3 meters tall mishmash of corpses was a great idea, and Herbert West, the re-animator. Unrelated but I assume that the Big Boy was the black haired young man who regrew a leg in the beginning? Which is a shame because he seemed cool.

To be fair to Victor Frankendude, the monster seemed pretty cool but then Victor was an awful father, refused to help the monster find a girlfriend, and in general was extremely unsupportive. There's a very real argument to be made that the true monster was Dr. Frankenstein himself. So yeah, 3 meter tall flesh monsters might not be a bad idea! Maybe!

Was I the only one that assumed that the old lady was the benefactor? Honestly the Typhon could have made some rather fascinating ecosystems. The main driver for their aggression seem to be that the strain needs additional biomass to further develop. Thus their endless hunger, it is rather interesting how they dont actually attack those who are of also infected/developped fully. Could be a really cool super-organism situation potentially.

Its a pretty good game in my opinion, the voice acting was really nice, good emotion there, the music was nice That little melancolic melody hits just right! The story and gameplay although it seems a little flat and linear, fits quite right with the animation and leaves enough room for new theories about Patient Typhon and what could happend with the island after they found out what happend in there. Also nice desing with the monsters! they look quite unique and they look so horrifying, like that light flickering monster, man that scene was so good!

This game. is _amazing._ I'll be the first one to admit that i didn't expect much, just another indie game you know?, but WHOA. The plot was great, the music was chilling and unnerving, the topics and setting were handled respectfully, and the whole like, mood and vibe. Was horrifying. I love it. Looking forward to seeing more stuff from these devs, especially the DLCs, I wanna know more about this universe :) Also I'm 70% sure that the James and Mary thing may be a subtle nod/homage to Silent Hill 2. Which would also explain the secret "There's no hole here" text. But maybe not, I dunno.
@professionalvillains1343 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Glad you like our game. :) Yes, James and Mary is a nod to Silent Hill 2. "There's no hole here" is just a coincidence that it is reminiscent of Silent Hill. The reason for the note is there is that the hole that led into the freezer where the dogs monster is, is gone at that point. It's a way to show that the main character is losing her mind. But you are right, it seems like its a nod to Silent Hill. :) We are nearly done with the first DLC. Remember sharing the game with friends, so we maybe sell more games, that will help us cover the cost of making DLCs. Sincerely. - John and Maria

I appreciate the effort of showing all endings and such, the whole it is like a 2.5 hour hour game but took 10 hours thing I get, while let's play style videos are slightly different in school I took a tv/video production class and the teacher's motto was basically for every minute of footage you should be looking at 5 minutes in editing (so a 10 minute video could be 15-20 minutes of video before editing that becomes 75-100 minutes of editing or about 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes), especially trying to show notes, check for secrets, etc... and deciding what gets cut vs what had a good reaction tl;dr any sort of video project can involve a lot time, due to recording, editing, rendering, etc...
@ManlyBadassHero3 жыл бұрын
My rule of thumb is, editing is if you're lucky double the length of what you recorded (of good footage, not wasted) and sound and video editing is separate timelines. Sound editing is linier and can't be sped up but consistent in double or triple length, video editing can be double, or go wild. If you're a no commentary channel your editing times plummit, you lose sound editing, you lose vocal fatigue that limits amount of recording, and you're allowed less video editing since you don't have to compensate and check against a commentary track or actions in relation to the commentary allowing you broad cuts or lack of cuts.
