The world has changed dramatically by the beginning of the 21st century: we are living in an age of increasing disorder and uncertainty, characterised by unpredictability, volatility, ambiguity and fewer and fewer unpredictable answers to the fundamental questions of our lives. This situation also requires us to make choices that will rapidly transform the way we live, interact, communicate and think, and how we understand and experience the new world around us. What can guide us in this period is the subject of a book entitled Awakening Values, written by György Csepeli, a professor of social psychology, who we invited to our season-opening programme to discuss not only the many topics raised in the book, but also about himself and his career.
