Progress to an advanced level of guitar playing - bulletproofguit... It's Eric Clapton's birthday this Saturday, so I wanted to pay tribute to one of music's all-time greats. In this lesson I show you how Eric throws major 7th's into his blues licks that are based on the minor pentatonic and blues scales. This is something I noticed Eric doing a lot of when listening to him play the instrumental Cream track 'Steppin' Out'. It creates an interesting sound because the major 7th is not found naturally within the minor pentatonic and blues scales.
I hope you guys enjoy the lesson!
