Lived in Colorado for ten years in 1980 to 90. Used to fish at Deckers on the Platte. Never got to the Frying Pan or Roaring Fork, or many of the other fine streams!! Miss the mountains like crazy!! You are so lucky!!

I used to go to some beaver ponds I came across while scouting for an elk hunting trip, out of Grant before the Kenosha Pass. You needed a 4 wheel to get there, but the brook trout were everywhere, and they would hit anything and everything. They were small, but fun.
