I feel that they would be a huge hit with today's youth! Fortunately I was able to enjoy them when they came out to begin with.

Purity is one of the best melancholic guitar pop records of the 80s. A Cure copycat band (which seemed to be more a tribute to the Cure than stealing ideas from them);who still had their own unique sound and wrote great songs. Chiming flanged guitars, Robert Smith like world weary vocals, and simple yet effective bass and drums. Gloomy and goth like in many ways, they also wrote uplifting anthems like Endless Lakes and pure pop songs. They should have been big but remained under the radar.
