Not enough videos on these types of sandbags. I know there is a bunch on the sandbags with handles. Keep these videos going with the strongman sandbags There is too much on barbell, kb, mace, calisthenics, bodybuilding, powerlifting, power building, etc. You and alshrue are the two biggest names that promote the sandbag, but I know alshrue promotes other types of training styles. You got something good going on here. Give it time, and the channel will keep growing.

I used to have a sandbag (2 bags of gravel duct taped together (about 100 ppounds)) where i used to live. I had only ever watched 1 youtube video on it and i just wanted something to do at home that wasnt bands. It always felt great, it was rediculously hard and I loved that. I managed to overhead press it at one point. I remember doing carries and floor to shoulder all the time wondering if i was even doing anything worthwhile. I didnt have the confidence to decide it was good for me. I just liked doing something that was hard.

I find sandbag training highly interesting and very functional for real life applications, making these easier. I do like many other training methods as well and like to combine them or switch between them, challenging the body in different ways. Like calisthenics, gymnastic training, sprinting, animal walk, indian club, steelmace training, isometrics, running in general, especially in wild nature. All of them, including sandbag training, are also fun and at the end, relaxing to me. Good times.

I wonder how safe this is in the long run, this is basically what construction workers do, lifting 220 to 440 pounds of concrete bags, every day, for decades, and they normally end developing back injuries that are permanent, so while you are young, in your 20a to lower 30s, it may feel amazing, but i wonder how it will carryon pass your 35s-45s when your biology shuts down and just decline Granted that you dont do it 12h a day 7 days a week like construction workers, but still, it will be interesting to see how you progress through your 50s and 60s, if there ie any inury or not
@thestonecircle3 ай бұрын
Hey this is a great thought, and actually one of the most discussed topics I've seen on these videos. The consensus from guys who have worked a lot of labor is that the main reason guys get hurt on the job is 1. because it is all day everyday, and 2. because the work isn't treated like exercise. It's much easier to keep perfect form when you're going for a max lift, but when you're tired and doing something for the thousandth time it's easy to go in with half effort. That seems to be the idea at least! Also I am interested in the longevity part of it too. The best examples I've found are with Basque stone lifters. Many of them do high volume/heavy weight for decades without issue, very promising!

hi, i'm interested in training specifically towards improving my performance in the bedroom, and sandbag exercises seem like they would be more applicable compared to barbell/machine training. can you speak to this? if this is an inappropriate topic then no worries
@thestonecircle9 ай бұрын
Hey that's actually a great question. In terms of pure athleticism I think sandbags are much more effective than barbells or machines. The main thing I would say is to make sure you're getting stronger on a heavy squat, and a heavy hinge. Barbell squats and deadlifts, or sandbag stuff should both work well for that. I think at the base level they would both (sandbags or barbells) probably work in a similar way for that, but I can think of 2 ways sandbags might be better. 1. Sandbags seem to gas you out a lot quicker, and cardio is probably more important than pure strength at a certain point 2. Sandbags don't take it out of you in the same way barbells do. You can push to your limits and feel recovered in a day or 2 with sandbags once you adapt. Whereas with barbells it can cut a lot further into recovery and you might not be recovered for longer. Part of this is because you lift so much more weight with barbells. I think this would matter because it doesn't matter how much better you get, if you're always feeling drained from the Barbell training it won't matter anyway. Just a few things I could think of, I hope that helps!
