Former League player here as well! I think one of the biggest culture shocks for migrating players is how diverse and high octane (even during neutral phases) each match can be. In League you're only ever thinking about 5 enemies and 4 allies, meanwhile in ER you have 7 other squads of three each made up of varied characters and 70% of which you won't even be able to track the power level of, so it can be quite frustrating sometimes! Also, all the characters in ER are relatively more complex and difficult to pilot compared to League. I used to play Supp /Jungle and when I want to take it easy, I can simply play Fiddle or Sona for example. In ER, it's hard to find a character that you can go on "auto-pilot" mode on because of how dynamic and explosive the game can be.

I've been playing on kr pings rlly not that bad I tend to average 130 only thing I'm rlly worried about is the skill gap since Koreans tend to be cracked lmfao

@Wizard101InANutshell yea a lot of OCE players tend to play on NA because they find it easier playing against a variety of skill ok 200 ping when the average player has 60 vs a tighter skill bracket in KR with lower ping but against everyone with 2 ping.

I was a Xayah Kaisa main in league and I enjoy Rozzi a lot. We don't really have a Kaisa equivalent yet unfortunately. Karla is kinda like xayah + zeri but she's not in a great spot atm. There's a new character coming soon called Leni that I'm hopeful will be somewhat like Kaisa!

Shoichi! He's a little tough to play but his Q2 is similar to Akali, e is similar, and has dagger skill that's similar to her w! He's like Akali + Katarina. If you're looking for something less challenging Cathy had the same playstyle but different abilities.

Emma has similar abilities to lulu but not a similar playstyle! Hart plays similar to Kindred with longer range! Azir is pretty unique there's probably not a 1:1 comparison.

If you like spamming Qs akin to Zeri's, try Karla! She's like a mix of Zeri (Qs as "basic attacks") and Xayah (use a skill, W in Karla's case to reel in accumulated feathers / harpoons). She also has the mobility and her ult is like a giant Aatrox pull! If you like dashing around while mix-matching Qs and autos, you can try Laura too. She's extremely technical and high APM character but when used to her full potential, she's very mobile and has insane DPS!

This is going to be a bit of a stretch but I'd try Sua. She fits the battlemage playstyle and forward fluidity of Gwen but she doesn't have similar abilities. If Irem is working for ya tho stick with it!

Thank you! A previous Gwen player has said they enjoyed Irem but we don't really have much like her. Sua and Abigail are battle mages in the same style but different abilities. I'd try any of those first!

hey i know this video is 7 months old but i decided to return to this game i played it back when it was in beta, i have a general understanding of it and watched all of your beginner guides youve released so far to get a deeper understanding of the game, I played league of legends for roughly 12 years and my playstyle is the one thing i was confused about in this game. I typically find myself interested in characters that play dual swords, shurikens, rapier, two handed sword, and nunchucks. In league of legends i prefered playing highskill characters who required good mechanics. I was also a fill main i enjoy being able to play every position. But i mained jungle aswell as mid for the most part and adc. I play characters like Lucian, Katarina, Talon, Zed, Kled, Illaoi, Daruis, Kindred, rengar, rakan, vladmir, and a ton of other characters lol. What do you suggest i do for a character pool and in generally for characters id have fun getting good with aswell as benefit in mastering?

Id like to add on that i pride myself in my ability to land skillshots but also use my tools to avoid skillshots. Kinda like faker.

@@fishythetruegod Yea for sure! I appreciate you watching the vids! In terms of characters, it seems that you pretty much play every style, but from the LOL characters listed they're all characters that are strongest at the start of the fight with some initial burst. Excluding the assassins on the list (because that's a very assassin style in general) Lucian wants to make use of his doubles shots immediately, Kled with his 4 hits off the start, Illaoi with E-R, etc. Darius is the only one that really needs to "ramp up" before he gets strong with resets. Cathy is a pretty good example of this style she has a lot of burst at the start of a fight, and kind of does her own thing in fights as well. You won't need to really play off other teammates. The higher mechanical version of this style would be Alex/Shoichi. Shoichi does best as a follow up though, similar to a Kat/Akali. For bruisers, Leon fits this as well. He likes to engage and use his full kit and can fully carry a fight with a good engage. He's not a 1v3 hyper carry in damage, but definitely in playmaking. He also has shielding properties and can be played in support/engager role like Rakan. There's better options for this but I think he's also fun to play. For marksman Rozzi is similar to Lucian where she wants to frontload her damage and make use of her double shot passives. She also doesn't need as much peel as the other marksmans and can fit into multiple styles including dive! Hope this helps!

Shoichi often gets compared to Akali as well (Q2 and E) if your finding him a bit challenging I'd look at Cathy. She's not similar mechanically to Akali but fills the role of easier shoichi.

Abi and Kenneth are both good choices. My go to recommendation for Zed Kayne players is Daniel!

Bianca is joked about just being AP Malphite but to some honesty she's very similar. You can fish for snares with Q if you have an engager on your team or you can be the engage with R>E Then look to follow up with Q. You're basically an assassin where after you R>E>Q its more so just about staying alive and providing Q's when you can. If you get engaged on after R>E you have W, Statis tactical skill, W again. I have a short talking about this coming out soon. It'll be called "The -1 Window for Assassins" or something similar! Look out for it!

Eva for a more offensive option! Priya for a supportive one! Eva has the forward line skillshot similar to brand and zyra. And is a circle skill shot similar to brand. She also W-Q's like you would with brand as well. R is a high damage aoe ultimate too. For Priya it's the same just switch W and Q. Q is the circle and W is a line and u ll Q-W instead!

Assassins definitely feel weird in Eternal Return and I've heard of a lot of people roll changing when they come over. One of our best marksman players in NA was a riven/mordekaiser player in LoL. Glad your enjoying Adrianna! Maybe control mages are your thing?

I like catching carries off guard with the bubble and bursting them down as fast as I can. I've always liked mages which is why I instantly clicked with Hyejin since she does the poking job well, but would like a character with at least a similar Q and E than Zoe, because it's so funny oneshotting a carry and leaving the enemy team to fend for themselves.

Can you suggest some chars to play, i mainly play bruisers or tanks in league with some "spacing and combos playstyle" (riven aatrox yone etc), Felix and Jan looks suitable if I understand their gameplay correctly. Also is there any good tanks to play or heavy bruisers (like Hyunwoo) is better than pure tank?

I'd also look into Li Dailin and Debi/Marlene! Bruisers are good especially when accompanied with another melee pick! If you have two ranged characters and you're the only frontline you might want to go more tanky or pick a tank! But as for if one is better than the other? Not really, just depends on comp and what you like playing more

Rozzi has a lot more frontloaded damage but you'll sacrifice range. She's kinda like Lucian + samira. Maybe Karla even. She's kinda like zeri + xayah

Cathy or Daniel fit similar in playstyle to Talon. Vanya has similar spells to Ekko (Q similar, Utility on W, Dash on E) but she's a more supportive character. She's very slow paced compared to Ekko so you wont have similar play style.

Daniel has some similar properties to Blue Kayne. This one might feel weird to play but I really like Laura as an Ahri comparison but you could also try Sua or Vanya. Adriana for offensive Xerath, Theodore for support Xerath!

Any recommendations for Kindred, Ezreal, or Kai'sa? I mainly play jungle and ADC. I also was looking at characters and saw Theodore and thought he looked really cool but after some research I saw he isn't a good character at least tier wise. Was wondering what your thoughts on him were in the current meta as more a ranged carry. (For more info I mainly plan on just playing in squads with a couple friends since I know he has a lot of support skills)

I wouldn't worry too much about meta and character strength while you learn the game! Play what you find enjoyable and then once you start to get the hang of the game then you can explore meta picks! Theodore fits a support role but can also be a secondary damage dealer. I talk about him in an upcoming video I'm working on actually. We don't have a Kaisa comparison unfortunately. She was one of my mains in LoL so im still waiting for her. Hopefully Leni will be similar when she's released. Hyejin is our Ezreal comparison. She's kind of like AP Ezreal though. This will sound odd but Laura kind of plays like Kindred despite being a melee caster. Given your playstyle I'd also look into Haze or Jenny!

We don't really have an Irelia, Illaoi, or Gwen type character. Isaac has some similarities to Mordekaiser but I wouldn't call him a close pick. I would try him or Debi and Marlene or Cathy. D/B is like a tank version of Yone and Cathy would be an assassin version. My recommendation for Gwen players is usually Sua but also not very similar. Just has the same type of forward movement as Gwen.

league mains are Nocturne and Viego. Any somewhat similar characters in ER?

Not really unfortunately. It's hard to make global/long range ults work in the battle Royale setting without being too Overpowered. Jackie kind of plays similar to viego in terms of forward movement fluidity. I'd also maybe try Ly Anh? She's not very similar in terms of abilities to nocturne but fits the fear and chase playstyle.

For Viego, the closest would be Isaac as he has a dash + CC like Viego and their ults are kinda similar. Much like Viego he is also deceptively hard to kill due to his innate lifesteal!

We don't really have anything similar to ekko. I'd try Irem (w has cc q is a projectile, e is a dash so it's kinda like ekko) we don't have anything similar to his ult. Also maybe try Sua or Abigail. Fits the battlemage style. With similar forward movement in their combo

I Have been wondering for the longest time who you think play more like JHIN hes my main but out i have not found anyone like him so far

Jhins a fairly unique character and we don't have much in comparison. Honesty I think some of the mages would be closer to his playstyle than the marksman. I'd recommend Haze. She's a mage but has a similar playstyle.

Jenny is the closest analogue to Jhin I have found. Shes a gun mage who amps her third shot or any shot after her e to add her magic power to her next auto, to match Jhins big burst autos.

@treyhova1183 Jenny's got some similar properties for sure but plays at a way closer range than Jhin would! Def for sure give it a try but Jenny does share some properties to Vayne as well. She also tends to go back and forth between an amp marksman and a burst assassin so try to keep track of her current playstyle!

Isaac has some similar properties! Doesn't have the ult recent but he gets a dunk, the w aa reset, and the e pull! It's like Darius with a dash instead of the Q!

Daniel is my similar recommendation for Zed! For Viktor if you like poking from range and controlling the space between you and your opponents I'd go Adrianna but If you prefer the quick one shot burst try Zahir. For Gangplank Id offer Celine. She's a little unique compared to most Eternal Return characters but has a bomb + detonate combo similar to gangplanks barrels. You can also move around the bombs with r kind of like chaining barrels. Instead of W-Q you'll have to Q-W.

I would look into Aya! Her current best weapon is assault rifle but sniper aya plays similar to jhin. Aya Q is a targeted projectile like Jhin, W is a lined skillshot that requires tracking rather than accuracy, and Sniper weapon skill is similar to Jhin R!

Sua and Cathy for the easier side! Tazia on the harder side! Nicky is a pretty good 1:1 for Vi players but shes more a tank that has lockdown for her team rather than a burst character.

Iam a otp at heart and main pyke in lol. Atm iam at 1.3 mil. Points. At first i thougth lenox would be a good fit for me but i miss the fast paste gameplay with her. I will try luke the next time i am able to play. Do you have any suggestion for a pyke main in ER ?

In terms of being an offensive support type I would look more to the bruisers than the tanks/supports. If u want like a mobile playmaker and don't mind something a bit challenging mechanically I'd recommend Debi/Marlene! She's got that fast past engage style that goes from front to back in a teamfight. If you want a character with the ult style execute like pyke look into Chiara!

That sounds great thx i will definitly look them up. What i enjoy most with pyke is the proactive catch potential and with that the chance to give the game the tempo i want/need. I think debi/marlene maybe can give me that.

@TheElbjosh Yea for sure! D/B kind of has that for sure! Just make sure your team is in range to follow up as you won't have a stealth to get yourself out.

Unfortunately assassins are the one class that don't get translated as well in ER from league. The closest to Zed we have is Daniel. He's kind of like Kayne/Zed. He fits the playstyle of I'm going to try and get in and kill the carry and get out if that's what you're looking for!

Adina is pretty similar yo Ryze but she's pretty challenging to play. Markus for poppy, Rozzi for samira/lucian/trist, Jackie for a melee Tristana, and Celine for Ziggs! I switched to Eternal Return before Belveth came out so idk much about that character unfortunately
