​@@kremepye3613 The problem was the rifle was designed in the 1990´s after the end of the cold war and was built with a thiner barrel to keep the weight down but that also meant that after some of longer firefights the germans had in afghanistan the rifle would start to lose zero and the handguard would get warm but the rifle was never meant to be fired like that and H&K won the lawsuit because they built the G36 to the spec the german defense ministry asked H&K for and it was not H&K´s fault the rifles were used for something they were never designed for, or in other words no its not a bad rifle and uses the AR-18 short stroke gas piston system which the newer HK 416 also uses and a whole ton of other rifles also uses it
