@@blackcultureunlocked Great post my guy! One critique that i would have is to keep it historically accurate can we use the terms Colored or Negro instead of Black and African American as thats what our people were called at the time. The term Black was official adopted in 1966 after the immigration act of 1965, which allowed foreign dark skinned people into America. The term Black was use to include the foreigner in with the Native Colored man or Negro to give them status. Same thing with the term African American which is why most of our elders hated these terms. You never hear MLK speak of Black it was always Colored Man or the Negro. It was Stokely Carmichael who started the Black Power and he was a foreigner from the island. He was conssidered Colored or a Negro at the time, he was whatever his home country was until he pushed that Black to the front. Once great work i just wanted to share this bit for historical accuracy. Same as Black Wallstreet is actually Negro Wallstreet!

I'm from Georgia and the truth about Oscarville was hidden from us in school. My family told our family about it & yes those stories are true about the scary things said about Lake Lanier. We say that the lake snatches souls. You should do some research about cities where black people were run out of cities in the middle of the night & had their property stolen from them. There's a city off of Lake Lanier called Dawsonville that Oprah & Hosea Williams marched on when she had her talk show. Their homes were burned & they ran with their families with only the clothes they had on their backs. We refused to go there for a very long time but now it's a whole other story. Still racist, but covertly racist.

Thank you. This is all very informative. I love learning about our history. I heard of some but I had never heard about all these places that got washed away! But as I listen to the narration, They may not be sinking towns anymore but we are still being treated the same. That's a "still happening" to this day thing. Sometimes it seems we watch, listen and learn, like it's only our past. It's now too. Why haven't we; like all the other races that had injustices done to them in the past, been compensated? Why is this still our reality? That's what I want to hear. As long as they say nothing, their silence is their acceptance. Will they ever feel they need to make it right? Just like the President past that bill for hate crimes towards Asians and rightfully so. But I have never heard of any of these things that's happened to us in these past 4 going on 500 years now, a hate crime. All the black politicians and public figures we have and I've never heard not one of them; with the platform they have to do it, speak those words. Even in those positions, is there still that fear? Until that changes, these things will stay the same..

In my 1st book I said "If the Mississippi River ever runs dry, you'll be able to walk across it on bones." Never be afraid to speak the Truth. Black people have endured being forbidden to read or write. It was illegal for anyone to even teach Black people. Nowadays, any attention drawn to such atrocities is dismissed as nonsense. Shalom beautiful people and many blessings to you all and to your beautiful families. I have been aware of this particular history. And it is disheartening to know that I was not able to learn about any of this in the schools that I attended in the years of my development. This again proves that alot of our history has been hidden from us for a very long time. And it bears even more evidence of who we truly are in image and in identification as a people. And it really says alot when certain people have gone and are going out of their way to make sure our history stays hidden and hoping that we do not find out the truth about who we really are as a nation of people. Because there is no way a nation of people can experience this much hate and not have some form of important significance in this life and in this world. To hate a particular group of people so much that you would bury everything that they worked hard to build under substantial amounts of water says alot about the real agenda behind the hate. This is heart breaking and it is even more distressing to see how we are so hated as a people. Shalom And they say our people do not deserve reparations, I beg to differ. Shalom

Look up what they refer to as an Egyptian temple in Eastern Tennessee that was flooded by the TVA. They like to destroy or hide artifacts that they don't want people to know about.

It wasn't POC that this happened to, it was so called Indigenous/Aboriginal/Black Americans. Those poor whites stole everything that they got their hands on from thriving Black communities, they were the white mobs that came to steal, kill and destroy. Poor whites never got destroyed, so let's not try to taint and distort true history.
