I have only played MHGU, Rise, and World, but out of those three games Barroth has always been one of the monsters to really stick out. The design elements stick out and a lot of their gear has a striking look, especially the rack of ribs lookin ass of a greatsword.
@Evan-mt7bc10 ай бұрын
Barroth is also usually a player's first introduction to damage type weaknesses. Blunt users want to focus on his head, gunners want to focus on his back and blade users want to focus on his tail. In addition if you have a way to inflict Waterblight you can instantly remove Barroth's mud which is a rather unique interaction, Jade Barroth shares this interaction but with Thunderblight.

I absolutely adore Jade Barroth, and by extension regular Barroth. Barroth was a major roadblock when I started out in Tri as a kid, and Jade just makes his fight more fun! Also I love his roar and "regular" sounds and cries. To be honest though, I found him to be a bit lackluster in World - the way they changed how the mud puddles work turns the mud shaking into much less of a threat, especially because it can't fly off very far.

Honestly, I prefer the pre-gen 5 mud and snowman status over the field deterrents they became in World and Rise. It honestly felt more like a fair mechanic you had to play against, where if you didn't brink cleanser it became a dodging game you had to deal with, where now it's a field issue instead.

Always had a soft spot for Barroth after helping dozens of new players in Tri with their HR8 Baroth urgent. Barroth didn't pull any punches in LR Tri, but I'm okay with him being lower on the ladder these days. Like you said, he's a nice monster to occupy the low-medium monster difficulty niche, but I'll still fondly remember the plethora of baddies struggling with an HR8 Barroth lmao

I recently introduced a good friend of mine to World and due to one time it interrupted our hunt together we've made it a tradition that whenever there's a barroth on the map, regardless of what quest we're doing, we go out of our way to kill it. One time, the target of our quest, Kulu Ya Ku, actually lent us a hand in the fight, which ended up in us capturing the Kulu instead of killing it in thanks.

I don't really like Barroth in Rise, because it keeps covering itself in mud, and would often leave the fight making you run after him over and over again. In World, it would stay for a while without mud, allowing you to deal easier damage to him. Older Gen Barroths were a mixed bag, where the fight would be nice but the muddied status would slow the fight for nothing. I have yet to fight Jade Barroth though. I still thing he is an iconic monster, a really nice weak brute wyvern (although in Rise he feels less weak), and really liked that in World, compared to other brute wyverns, Barroth was small, it made him a bit cuter, like a pocket sized brute. Also World gave him a lot more animations that makes him goofy, clearly displaying that he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, notably through his Turf War with Diablos.

Only Fought Barroth in 3U and Iceborn. I liked Worlds version the least, whit your increased Speed, its just to easy to deal whit him, making his hunt very boring. Jade is a bit anoying, his double Head Hammer, and U Turn are hard to avoid, same whit his Speedbuff. Best one is probably the base one. Hes much more fun to hunt, and neighter frustrating or boring, maybe a bit easy thought. I dont like himbas much as lets say Royal Spongebob, but im overall very positive about him.
