I've uploaded this video yesterday, but it was viewable only in South Korean because of Fly MV. So, sadly, I had to remove it.

I was a fan of BoA before I even knew what kpop was. It was funny, in 2003 i was just channel surfing and randomly landed on those foreign channels, and BoA's Atlantis Princess was on. I was immediately hooked. Growing up East Asian in a 97% Southeast Asian country, something about her clicked with me on a very deep level. She was the *first ever* face I could identify with in media. I couldnt get enough of her. This was during the dial-up internet days and it was a real adventure getting anything BoA-related in a country where nobody knew her. Good memories. But i persisted and studiously learned all of the dances to the songs of those era, from Valenti to Sweet Impact. She inspired little 13 year old me to pursue something, anything in the entertainment industry just so i could be like her. I self-studied Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin because of her. I then became a runway model for the next ten years, confident in myself that an east asian like me could be seen as beautiful at all when I grew up always feeling different. BoA has been a phenomenal inspiration to me, watching her through the years makes it feel like she is a long time friend. 😁 I'm 27 now and I still wait every year for any video release. Like I said, it's like seeing an old friend every time.

I first heard BoA back when Every Heart was used as an ending track for Inuyasha. Ever since then, I've been a fan. BoA was out here slaying when I was still learning how to multiply. She not only kills dance tracks with choreo of life, but even obliterates ballads with her unique tone. Truly, a legend of my generation.

I just got back into BoA in 2018 now that i'm 29 and I'm trying to catch up on the 10 years of songs and MVs I missed. I used to be like...6 when I first know her from my sister whom was 7 years older than me(pretty sure she started follow BoA with her friends?) and she was spamming BoA all over and over and guess what? I'm addicted to BoA since then too. Back in time Quincy and Dakishimeru was my ultimate jam ;-; (We even try to do the cover dance together and rn as a young adult, I always love to dance) I also danced to Energetic for the school's annual show when I was in grade 4 ;_; I still follow her until today even if I were to be frank, I'd say not as crazy as before but everytime I see something like this it was just like rewinding my life through a video. Man, the audio mixing and mastering was so janky on early kpop songs. Like her dance tracks _should be_ amazing, but they're somehow nerfed energy-wise. They don't seem to pop as much as they should. Wonder Girls' early stuff was like that too, overly softened for whatever reason. The strange thing is that many of her ballad songs sounded full and amazing. Did they not use the same studios or something? 🤷♂️ . There's there's the anomaly of "Eat You Up" which sounds phenomenal, only to go back to the muffled jank like every other song again. Very inconsistent recordings (not her fault).
