They don't even have to change that much about this character to make him more fun to play. If blizzard just played the game, tried to understand it and considered high level doom mains then we wouldn't have videos like this. It seems a bunch of companies now only care about making a game and its characters profitable instead of functional. Characters like doom and little mac in smash ultimate are created as a result. Not saying these characters are never fun, they can be which is why it's frustrating when you're at the mercy of the bugs no one fixes and the flawed balance philosophy of the game. I like these videos man and your editing is on par with your doom skills, but it's a shame how accurate this video is.

@ViveLesPatat while yes, he is an underdog in his games, he has good enough tools for him to work in those games because when developing him, they understood what to do with him and didn't make him dysfunctional, they made him a good underdog. In Smash, he is dysfunctional, not that he can never do well, but he is very inconsistent because they didn't properly account for the nature of his playstyle from a competitive standpoint. They care more about the casual audience more than comp so they often don't listen to things that would fix certain characters and make them more playable in comp settings (donkey Kong constantly gets neglected by making changes to him that don't help him or matter much). Just because he is an underdog doesn't mean he shouldn't be designed to be a good underdog. He was poorly made. A good underdog is fighting an uphill battle but doesn't have a bunch of disadvantages that aren't in his opponents control, where no amount of skill (which underdogs are almost entirely dependent on) can help you no matter how much you outplay your opponent. Little mac in smash is constantly at the mercy of the game's aerial nature and other problems with his ground game.

Ow1 Doom is my fav charcter hands down in lore and gameplay. His usefulness came from how well you knew how to use his abilities in combination with map knowledge and character matchups. Then they absolutely gutted the character in ow2 and because blizzard listens to the loudest minority, people who play for 3 hours a week and dont actually delve into the games mechanics.

It’s funny the top players of Doomfist said he is better as a Tank than DPS now are complaining about his bugs as a Tank 🤣 I am surprised they fixed some of the current bugs he is having that still doesn’t mean he’s better as Tank in my opinion. He should be a DPS in Tank role but nerfed problem solved.

His kit is better as tank than dps, imagine trying to use any of his dps abilities against a kiriko or a sojourn, their cooldowns hard counter him and kiriko can just wall climb out of slams and punches. You also can't control space against tanks because of their new knockback passive. The problem is they gutted everything that was good about tank doom and also removed the few techs the rework had during beta 1. Dps doom is fun but the game is too power crept for him even lifeweaver counters him.

@@glorillafan kiriko already counters him with sizu have ever powered punch an enemy player and fallen off the map thinking if only I had uppercut to get back in the map instead of this block. A wall climbing kiriko as it stands can get countered with slam canceled to rocket punch i have done it and seen it done her only escape is to teleport. I disagree that tank doom is better because you have 2 DPS tanks RH and JQ then what was the issue with keeping his uppercut again I am not disputing him as a tank I am disputing his kit with Block your mentioning the Beta Doomfist block yes it worked then but we didn't take into account JQ which wasn't ready at the time and Ramantra who has an even better block than DF. A happy medium could have been met with keeping his uppercut but using his new slam kit to build up over health and giving you the opportunity to give you a one-hit shot on an enemy player (depending on how many get hit in the slam radius) to be usable. I myself was never a doom fist main until i started using him then I understood his strengths and weakness as DPS so i was able to play other roles and know how to counter him if you think leaving him as a tank is better fine but as far as I can see and tell those who have put in all the hours with learning him when he was a DPS aren't happy you can do a poll and see but what we all can agree on is this current version of him isn't working.

This guy just put his soul in the actual cause of death of overwatch. DPS is now eons worst and boring to play cause doom is not in it, tankfist is just a drag char . worst mistake of OW's history and these guys made A LOT OF MISTAKES : (mercy mass rez, mercy buffs even after she didn't needed one, mercy's kit basically a joke to your efforts when you tryhard your ass of and an e-girl just picks mercy sips coffee and wins while sleeping and saying UWU to her chat, brig stun return, hog's one shot gone, sombra's kit is useless and unsatisfying, L matchmaking mcree's change from skill-less kit to skill-less kit , 5 v5, no PVE , no content in OW1 in promise of full content for OW2 by the end of 2022, removing DOOM's written buffs patches in just 6 days like it was a BUG and keeping hanzo and kiriko's ACTUAL BUG FOR 20 DAYS !!!!!! WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FAK!!!, making this game free for extra player base LOL ,only in the end no new players actually sticked to this game and old players made new accounts and fucked up the rank system , For the same reason they removed lootbox system and introduced credit system only for old players to loose interest from an effortless recycled skin fest, acting like they're frustrated from the player base for not liking the changes they did and proceeding to do what they liked but that's what they did from the beginning and never really showed any interest whatsoever in the feedback from pro's , streamers or normal player base, in ow1 when mcree was highest picked dps char of all time from season 4 to 36 or something they still buffed his per bullet dmg and gave a silent buff to his flash so that it hits more accurately ETC) a small list for sure ,for the stuff this company did with this wonderful game and last but not the least , the most heinous crime of the century : DEATH OF DOOM PARKOUR : the last reason for the beaten, perma hacked , bashed , flashed , frozen , one shot from across the map etc breed of doom mains to open the game . The only tiny sliver of hope in the lives of DOOM mains stripped away like it was nothing . tyvm ladies and gentlemen , you've been an excellent comment reader :)
