The evolution of the relationship between Mitch Grassi and Avi Kaplan from 2011-2016. Avi and Mitch are members of the band Pentatonix and are just friends, not dating.

This is just my thoughts about some of the friction. The trio have been friends for a long big time and I think Scott was shocked how popular Avi and Kevin became. They are so very talented but Avi was slightly older and it showed. In the sing off days they had all just met and they were awkward around each other. I have no idea the real reason, but have always sensed there's some type of major tension between Avi and the trio, and I just feel like Mitch has the intelligence social skills and good nature to bridge the gap, whereas Kirstie seems to barely tolerate or look down on Avi. Whenever Avi's speaking she seems to be looking at Scott to gauge his reaction.

if you look at a lot of scott's old vines / old videos in general from 2012 - 2013 there actually is a lot of evidence that they were really close friends at some point (videos of them doing roller derby together, pushing each other playfully on an overpass, her poking his face, him doing lifts with her, etc.)
