Patton is my favorite vocalist of all time, he started out really high and nasally and within a couple years he got really low and more crooner-esque. FNM's "King For A Day..." is my current Patton release that I haven't stopped listening to for a couple weeks, but it changes. Patton is a true original and something that all rock vocalists should strive to be. Original and at the same time, accessible with his more mainstream projects. There will never be another Patton. I try as a vocalist, today even I tried to emulate his vocals on "Ugly In The Morning" and had a serious gag reflex reaction. Only imitating Patton could get that reaction.

This was great to listen to. I've enjoyed everything I've heard Patton perform in. I think almost anyone can find something they enjoy as he's covered so much musical ground. To me his biggest evolutionary step was hearing him on King for a Day (1995). Just the diversity, discipline and tone he got on that album was just a big step up from his previous material. You can hear it in Discovolante (1995) which was just pure insanity which left us asking 'why' but more importantly how? Since then, Mike Patton has continued to evolve and solidify his status as one of the greatest vocalists of our time, if not of all time.
