Serious Sam (HD) first and second encounter are my all time favs and I played every title, even the indie ones. Serious Sam 4 isn't bad either but just doesn't feel the same. Should've sticked to the old level design

Yeah, changing the original design kinda ruins the fun in the game, it just doesn't give us that same feeling it used to give, no doubt the graphics in SS4 is great, but the older ones were too much fun.

I wouldn't really call 3's graphics an improvement. Everything looks so washed out and dull and overblown with bloom. 2's colours are bright, vibrant, every enemy is easy to pick out in a crowd or from the level.

@@simonhugo4893 I'm almost 60 years old and was really late into playing computer games - it wasn't till Serious Sam 2 came out that I even had a computer capable of playong games! So Serious Sam 2 was all I knew in the series. I only played the others through Serious Sam Fusion so never played them as originals. Like you I really liked Serious Sam 2 and was a bit disappointed with the other games in the series however there are some very fun levels in the other games too. But I agree - nothing was as creative and imaginative as Serious Sam 2.

Back in my childhood Serious Sam and Painkiller were my 2 favourite shooter games. They f.ed up Painkiller but Serious Sam is hanging there. The studio is 10 years behind in technology but gameplay is still great.

There's a part in Serious Sam II - Greendale level where you lower a bridge by removing an arm from a contraption. That arm belongs to a dead Gnaar that's wearing overalls, kind of like Mario. The bridge lowers, you fight some enemies, and ahead is a small village with NPCs in it.

@@eaglelion7730 I am playing the game on 7680x4320 maxed out ultra settings no AA of course and with the first encounter game. I thought you was using some sort of mod giving the textures a more updated realistic look and lighting to the game. Even playing the game at native 4k still dont look like your lol. I guess it could be due to your having the game more close up on the fov settings giving that impression and its a youtube video
