I grew up when the Crue debuted and came into their own. The glory days of the early years will always be special, but I think Corabi nailed the next chapter. Unfortunately, the record company and the weak minds of Nikki and Tommy allowed him to walk. This band can fuck up a wet dream fast.

Saw the tour in Myrtle Beach. Crushed it. Saw Crue in 1999 - stage performance is good but Vince was eh. Saw them again in 2005 on the Carnival of Sins and again the stage show was cool but Vince was -very eh. My favorite Crue album is with Corabi but then again I thought John was great with the Scream and then met him in Guitar Center when the Dead Daisies did an in-store. Great dude.

Yes, I'm sure the Heroin Diaries was colored. Nikki is an entertainer. He said in the Dirt that he could have gone out with Demi Moore, later admitted it was a lie. He also said in the Dirt that he believed the Corabi record was going to blow up bigger than Feelgood. He was absolutely proud of that record. He wouldn't have issues with that record today if it sold 5,000,000 copies. As far as people who say the Corabi record sounded fantastic? They're right, and it better. They spent $3M recording that. Today that's about $7M. That's a shocking amount of money. The trouble with that record and following tour was Vince and John are not interchangeable. They are complete opposites. Imagine it's 1992 and Metallica kicks out James Hetfield and puts in Vince Neil? It wouldn't work. What I would be interest to know is this: Vince said in his book that he found out that Motley Crue was rehearsing with John Corabi BEFORE he was fired from the band. It would make sense. Motley Crue was one of the biggest bands in the world at the time, and they sure seemed to replace their lead singer really fast.

That self titled album has gained more Crue fans over the past 10 years, people who refused to listen to it have now listened and a majority of those fans regret not checking it out when it came out back in 1994. I bought it a week after it dropped and I absolutely loved it, for the fact that I am more of a heavy metal fan (Testament, Corrosion Of Conformity, etc...) I still throw the album on a couple times a month to this day.

Absolutely nothing since though, motley hasn't put out anything good since 94 imo and I'm a fan. Love John corabi but he's never made it to that level, I would buy a ticket to see him back in motley though. Vince is done in my eyes.

I worked/saw the first tour with Corabi. Sunken Gardens in San Antonio. I thought musically it was one of the best Crue shows I'd ever seen. I watched from side of stage thinking, "This is good. Different but, boy this guy can sing! It was obvious some of the fans were not impressed. At the load out, the tour was repacked from six trucks to three from memory. I think the touring crew was gutted. Shows downgraded to smaller venues. Some Crue fans are like some VH fans. Unable to accept change.
