Right but she's not saying it about _her_ character, _her_ work, she's saying it about _the original._ She even acknowledged that Snow White is "iconic" when she complained about not being paid enough millions. Nobody actually wants these remakes. The audience for them is dwindling as more and more people realise they are soulless cash grabs; worse, plenty of them push some agenda or other. To come out and say, essentially, "The original is terrible, that's why we're going to do it better," is just gross.

Nobody was saying "Oh good, they're finally redoing Snow White. The original has a stalker prince and other outdated values." By contrast, Pattinson was saying things that people already agree with. The fact that he agrees with it himself is hilarious. Pattinson even used his dislike of Edward Cullen to inform his performance, which is what landed him the job in the first place. And as far as I can tell, the general feedback is that he played the part well. He has enough clout from other successful projects, and proving his talent as an actor, to be able to say those things without getting backlash. None of that applies to Zegler. Consider the backlash against Star Wars Ep 8. Nobody liked how Luke Skywalker was treated and Rian Johnson - A MAN - is widely considered to be a joke because of it. If you destroy what people love, they will hate you for it.

All these complaints are so petty. Her views on Snow White as a leader is obviously coming from the script. These are things she's been told by the director/screenwriter. It's their vision. Don't like it, take it up with them. As for her negative on snow white, I don't see anything negative. This was her experience. She was being honest. Exiting the theatre, he said "Gee Aunt Grace, you look JUST LIKE Snow White!" and from then on she was known as Snow White, which really impressed the neighborhood children when their friend was told "Johnny, Snow White's on the phone!"

But here we see why PR is crucial to have a movie succeeding, even if the movie turns out to be some unaware BS woke lecturing with strong radical feminist undertones.
