You're welcome and thanks for confirming more On1.

Absolutely more. I follow a couple of the US ON1 gurus, but in terms of learning how to edit I always get the most from your tutorials.

Great to hear the video is helpful and thanks for letting me know you want more.

Well done. Thanks. I appreciated your introduction to the Tone filter as an integral step in the B & W processing. Your approach of not going 'over the top' and telling us what you do and don't like make a more valuable learning experience. More ON1 videos please.

Thanks. I have it on my list to do more.

I'm pleased that you like the video and I do publish On1 Photo RAW videos from time to time. Unfortunately they don't receive many views which is why I don't do them more often.

I’m glad to see some ON1 content. Capture One is my main editor, but I like ON1 a lot and I’ve been using it more lately.

I find it a great tool although I still tend to use Nik more.

Definitely do more On1 Raw videos. I use it as my DAM and raw processor with Affinity Photo when necessary.
@RobinWhalley4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, it's a good choice to pair up with Affinity Photo, especially for the DAM features.

thanks for sharing your workflow I was about to purchase exposure x6 but maybe I should watch more of you work first. more b and w !!
@RobinWhalley4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I will do more black and white. Don't let this video put you off Exposure X6. That's another great tool. I would suggest gettign a trial version of both systems and using them side by side for a couple of weeks. You'll soon work out which you like best.

Enjoyed seeing how you combine other effects with the basic B&W conversion. I have ON1 as a plug-in to Affinity. Is there an equivalent to the Photoshop smart filter? BTW I am really enjoying working through your Affinity Photo How To ... it has exceeded all expectations.

If you mean can you attach On1 to a layer so that you can reopen and adjust it later, no this isn't possible. At least not that I know.

@@RobinWhalley My primary and only editing software is DxO Photolab 4 + the NikCollection. It is a pretty great package. I like to work with it very much. I have tried also ON1 last time and I must say it is also a great all round software. I like how good all the sliders are working on ON1 and that all the creative filters are bulit in the software. If I didn`t had DxO, which I love to working with I could also buy ON1. It makes fun.

@@lonstar7675 There is a lot of good software about these days. It makes editing enjoyable.

Robin, how do you feel ON1's BW Filter compares with DXO Silver Efex Pro? I looks to me like ON1 has many of the same tools other than Silver Efex canned presets and the ability to use control points. I already have ON1 and I'm evaluating Silver Efex in a trial version. It would be great to not have to buy another software since I have ON1. Do you find that ON1 offers enough of what Silver Efex has to be comparable in achieving similar results?
@RobinWhalley Жыл бұрын
Whilst I like the On1 BW filter and it produces nice results, it falls well short of the types of adjustment you can make using Silver Efex Pro 3. You could though combine the On1 BW filter with the Tonal Adjustment and Contrast Adjustment filters to get nearer to what's possible in Silver Efex Pro. I am of course ignoring the use of Control Points.
