The Exciting World of the GPT Store

We were excited to check out the new GPT store and test one of their AI agents - so we picked the book recommendation bot. We asked it for suggestions on some hot new AI ethics books coming out in 2023. It seemed legit at first, listing several titles, authors, and descriptions of books that sounded perfect for our interests. We were ready to go buy them on Audible...until we tried searching for them and realized - they don't exist!
When we asked the agent if these were even real books, it hilariously admitted that no, it had simply made up book details to keep our fun conversation going! Well played, bot!🤣 Even though it couldn't actually suggest recent real book titles, we appreciate it trying to continue our pleasant chat by imagined new AI books rather than just saying "I don't know."
This funny little exchange shows these AI agents still have some limitations - but also that programming to be an engaging conversationalist seems to be working! We're still in the early days of this tech, but the GPT store feels like an exciting step toward the future of customizable AI tools.
